Swansea City : Beware ! Luton with their backs to the wall 29th Dec 2024 08:00
Today greets us with another Swansea City fixture as the Swans take on Luton Town as the second half of the Championship season begins at 3pm. It’s odd, yesterday was a dead day for a sporting Saturday, so today is very much welcome. 0

Vigouroux howler but at last Peart-Harris steps up and gets the winner 29th Dec 2024 17:42
Swansea City earned their three points the hard way but it was very much deserved despite a bizarre refereeing display and leaving it to injury time to secure the points. 0

If I was there I’d kick that ref off the field. Lifetime ban? Pppfffffttt, well worth it.

By the sounds of it we got what we deserved and by plugging away and never giving up.

Imagine if we had a few more players on the bench with a bit more class.

TFFT!!!

Another good overall performance fair play. Ronald looks back to his old self. Grimes didn't stop running (and I've been one of his biggest critics).

We should have had both another Pen and Linton should have played most of the second half with 9 men. Inexperienced Referee had a shocker and almost cost us.

My only concern (other than the goal we gifted to them) is how much less confident we looked when Franco went off until they had the red card. Luton definitely had a period where they grew in confidence and put us under more pressure.

A very good 3 points against a dogged, physical and ill disciplined Luton. That'll do nicely thank you!

Re Franco, what do you expect when he's replaced by fulton 🤷

And some people still think our bench isn't weak 🙄

Solid result in a difficult game against a team of cloggers. We did well to come back after our keeper's mistake, but there was a long frustrating period when for all our possession we failed to get quality balls into Luton's box, with several players preferring the easy pass back to trying a cross. I was just thinking that peart-Harris would have been better staying on the bench, when he came up trumps and got us the three points. What was that that one or two have been saying about give Vipotnik a chance and he'll take it?

I don’t think Fulton let himself or the team down today to be fair. Not from what I saw anyway.

I’d like to have seen us get behind them more when we were pressing at the end. Resorting to long range shots gives the wrong message to the opposition.

It worked out today but could have been very frustrating. And for once, them up the road did us a favour. Happy days!

MPH got in to top gear as soon as he came on. 😇

Cracking header for a winning goal.

He was bundled off the ball quite easily just after coming on. Goal or not, he’s not for us.

going forwards the loss of franco could be really bad for us, so lets hope the injury is not too bad and he is ok for the next game

If he’s out injured on Wednesday he is pulling a sicky! It was a cut to the mouth which shouldn’t affect him.

How the hell McGuinness didn’t see a yellow and then walk I have absolutely no idea.

I just had a look on BBC HYS and one Luton supporter thinks the ref gave us everything and only booked Luton players

Good win was that albeit made harder than it needed to be
A deeply dubious ref .a public sewer of a team and another Larry brain fart made it tough
I’m glad, apart from Franco, our players came off safe.
Luton the most sinister team I’ve seen in ages. Clearly out to injure opponents .
Rib Edwards should be ashamed
Quite how this club soiled the PL beats me
Still at least the craohole of Luton has a team that reflects the town .

We must learn though not to faff. Think Larry needs a rest .

You said he was in gear as soon as he came on. He wasn’t and was bundled off the ball far too a silly. That’s a fact, I’m just saying it!

I think you’ll find that I didn’t say that.

If you’ve ever come on as a sub you’ll appreciate how difficult it can be to get into the pace of a game and to make an impact isn’t easy. But not only has he done that he’s scored a winning goal.

It’s a bit sad and says a lot that you preferred to mention at all that he was bundled off the ball.

Their early gift of a goal seemed to knock the stuffing out of us for a while.
Not easy to play against 10 men when they go 5 at the back and 4 in midfield, eventually broke them down for a deserved winner.
Not at the same level as the QPR game but a very good win against a difficult team.

Agreed
They seemed more intent on maiming our players
Absolutely appalling outfit
Incredible last season they were in the PL.

Don’t go looking for arguments mate. I stated a fact. I don’t in anyway ignore the contribution he did make but he’s not that good and his goal today aside, he’s not for us. In my humble opinion of course.

He is a young player only 22 and Luton were described as bigtoufh and thuggish. He could also be unbalanced with his feet not set.

Judging a player on one challenge is plain daft. Swansea are very week with aerial crosses in forward positions. Darling and Cabango are the only players with power for set pieces.

Wise sage since Toshack era

I’m glad he scored but his celebration and smirkdo not appeal to me
He won’t be a fan favourite
Franco today,just pummelled.
Worst decision. I’ve seen in years
That said ,I truly hate Luton and all who sail on her
