He is not seeking to extend his term. The EGM and Swansea Council taking them on has really rattled their feathers. I feel sorry for Abi Tierney as she has had a very difficult time health wise, but I hope she is not just being stubborn to prove personal strength, see needs to go before she is pushed.

I’d say it’s excellent news. One down two or more to go which should include Jamie bloody Roberts as well. I hope the EGM still goes ahead, it must, and he still receives the vote of no confidence and ends up going before he has too much more influence. Good riddance.

EGM needs to go ahead and in my opinion RCK needs to go asap. Talking of Abi Tierney, I was speaking to someone who has good connections with the pro game, that person was told that she’s very good, but it was this persons belief she was being poorly advised by others. I think we need a clean sweep at the top. I am not averse to having a non Welsh person in charge, as long as they have a sound grasp and concept of the sport. In terms of Reddin, his job is to improve performance levels, marginal gains, structures, pathways etc. I see no reason why he can’t stay ..as long as he buys in to the 4 Regions concept. I know this sounds sexist and it’s not meant to be, but at this time I’d rather commit funding to 4 men’s teams and drop 1 of the women’s teams until we have enough money to sustain 4 men’s and 2 women’s pro teams.

They could come from Planet Zog as far as I’m concerned so long as the plan for Welsh rugby includes an all-inclusive approach at Regional level. I can’t see beyond the current 4 region model at present. As for being sexist, well count me in if you want. Fiddling while Rome burns is not needed. The men’s game is the fundamental aim of any Rugby body and other ventures will ONLY benefit if that is strong and leading by example. The women’s game will therefore benefit more from having the strongest format of men’s rugby more than sacrificing a region in order to be PC in supporting the women’s game. Doesn’t sound good but it’s true! Any WRU board following the EGM should have a mandate to improve rugby in Wales but building it around the nucleus of 4 regional teams.

The Men's game comes first for me 100%, a strong Welsh Team brings the money in, a decent all in coming grass roots academies are need to facilitate a strong Welsh team and squad, we lacking depth at the moment and yet this lot at the head of the snake are intent on cutting the regions back which will make the player pool smaller, basic common sense tells you that.

Fine, but no decisions should be made until RCK has gone. Maybe he should be pit in gardening leave. Any future Chair / board should be tasked with restructuring Welsh rugby with 4 regions at its nucleus. And I don’t mean that as the Ospreys must be saved. They should ALL be saved but I must admit I’d shed no tears for some Blues fans, who for some strange reason seem to be quite numerous in their support for the 3 region model, if their ‘region’ was binned. Never going to happen of course.

If the Ospreys disappeared in all probability the Cardiff region would edge west to Neath, encompassing Neath Port Talbot Bridgend and surrounding areas into their region making it stronger. The West region would be to big otherwise, Cardigan to Bridgend is logistically to large for development purposes.

Scarlets for me very few have a decent word to say about the Ospreys, parochialism is alive and well across the Loughor Bridge. [Post edited 2 Apr 21:15]

Pretty much a case of much to do about nothing, nothing was achieved, the issues run deeper than Collier-Keywood and Wall, both Tierney and Reddin should be going as well we won't get anywhere with these two muppets. The WRU as it stands needs clear out and get rugby people in and a corporate/commercial guru lots of work needed in those two departments, you can't have the some people doing multiple jobs at this level.

The intransigence of the board is borne out of either arrogance or stupidity. I’ve not made my mind up yet. Are they angling for a nice pay-off?

Its true about his 3yr contract, but there's a fair few half truths being spoken to, IMO. I still maintain that they all should go, I'll never support them they looked outside Wales for a temporary for a PRB Chair, there's a wealth of talented rugby people in Wales who could do that job standing on their heads. Same applies to Tierney and Reddin, Get Rid.
| Cardiff Rugby on 18:05 - Apr 14 with 898 views | johnlangy | I'm not a rugby person so as far as I understand it this is what's happening. Correct me where I get it wrong. There are four regions. The region that has been the most successful in terms of results and also being a proper region where the names of the original teams were given up and replaced with a regional team name are the Ospreys. The team that has been the weakest in terms of results has been the Dragons. The only region that has gone into administration are Cardiff and had to be bailed out of their financial problems. And they are also NOT a region but have just maintained their original name and are basically the original club from before the region era started. And the fourth region is the Scarlets. They have been less successful in terms of results than the Ospreys (not certain results wise of the comparison with Cardiff). But they are also not a region. At least Cardiff were combined very, very briefly with Pontypridd. Scarlets were the Scarlets and are still the Scarlets. Not a region. And the WRU's cunning plan is to scrap the most successful region, the only proper region of the four. They say there will be a team in Cardiff (not should there be - there WILL be), one in the East and one in the West. Geography is not my particular strength but isn't Cardiff in the East ? In keeping the Dragons it's almost impossible to not believe that there has to be money involved. And i'm not talking about the WRU financial problems. | | | |

Basically in my opinion it should be two or four. East and West, two in each or one in each.

Tierney keeps digging a deeper hole for herself. She has already told Swansea Council that it’s the Ospreys who will go, Rob Stewart let that one out of the bag so she’s clearly lying. You’re right, her and Reddin must go. Start afresh.
