Matos has stated there is no need for major surgery. The academy is always looking for fresh talent of course. There are upto 10 players 19-21 returning from loans.
Margetson, Watts, Congreve, Cotterill , Lissah, Wilson, Fanning, Arthur Parker,Bobby Wales and Jacob Cook.
Dan Watts, Blair McKenzie, Pescatore, Perry, Heywood Woodward making claims for a step up..

My personal opinion. Worth left because he would not have final say on recruitment it would be down to the new DoF. Our recruitment is not 85% done as recruitment is continuous and fluid depending on circumstances, clubs are working to cover all eventualities windows in advance. We will not only sign 2 or 3 players over the whole of this season. We have weak areas within the squad that need improvement and that is without players leaving and there will be at least 2 or 3 squad members going in my opinion. |  | | |

Im happy for some of the youngsters to come into the squad, but is very unusual for u21s to go into a championship team and bang out 35 plus games a season, their bodies just won't take it. Possibly have the youngsters as squad members instead of loans but we still lack starting quality, we need a right wing with pace and ball playing central defender, both who can play over 30 games a season, thats without anyone going. Apart from Galbraith and Vipotnik who are strong contenders to be sold, I also expect possible offers for Tymon, Stamenic, Franco and Eom, whether we would accept them is another story but I can't see any player he mentioned taking their place without weakening us. This is why recruitment is fluid and ongoing, not 85% done. | | | |

I have simply stated that there should be no great concern over recruitment as most of the team are covered with recent signings who need to improve and be given time. Full back and a center back need attention that about it .

Swansea will not be doing a lot of trading this season. 2-3 players at most. Matos is in board and accept a his job is to get the best out of players who have joined over the last 18 months.
The club will always be keeping an eye of exceptional prospects undervalued. Why have a massive recruitment staff when there will be little actual trading. That is while Worth left perhaps. He job was 85% done ? |

I agree with you that Res's "matter-of-factly" call for only 2-3 players is already short of the mark. However, Walta should be counted as this past winter's window signing, even though technically, the deal was consumated this summer.
Res could also claim that when he predicted 2-3 players back in early June, that he wasn't counting on Franco's serious injury that may take him out of action for a lengthy period. So, I will cut him some slack for a replacement there.
But, it does appear that the owners & management including Matos, are not finished in recruiting more players, especially with a big cloud and lots of questions hanging over Zan's lack of participating in any of the pre-season games so far. I hope that Vip plays today (against a Serie A team), but if he were to play, would it be for showcasing his talents to potential suitors?
If Zan is sold, then surely a true #9 replacement is warranted? Five signings so far: Walta, Welsh, Yeo, Opoku, and Just. I, like you, expect several departures as well.
