England in that first half were the better team stifled Argentinian play high up the pitch and cut the supply to the forwards defenders were allowed to show how to handle the opposition attackers the team blocking off paths though the middle and down the wingst
Second half England didn't cut out that supply lines down the wings and dropped too deep in the middle of the park.Result midfielders able to attack aerial balls in the box or have time to shoot from the edge of the box. After the early warning signs in that second half England persisted in gaving up any possession high up the pitch leaving quality strikers in Kane and Bellingham having to feed off scraps and asking them to play defensively.
You cannot leave teams of any sort the time to constantly get balls into the box into dangerous areas.

When the countryside bothers to vote the Peronists get in, they loot the economy and bankrupt the place, Kirchner was reckoned by the Americans to be taking .1% of all govt. income and .07% of all out goings. For herself and her friends.
The economy goes bankrupt, the countryside gets discouraged and doesn't vote, the major towns vote in conservatives who breath life back into the economy again.

Just another point on what you say.
The Welsh identity is not 'gossamer thin'. Come to South Wales from outside and the culture is strong and clear. Unmistakable. Ditto mid Wales and the Gogs, different again, unmistakable and strongly Welsh. But ... it is completely ignored by officialdom because the only Welsh identity they value is the language. I suspect being ignored keeps it healthy, the dead hand of bureaucracy might prove fatal.
The difference is Cardiff. Having lived in a lot places it is very clearly a bit of England dropped into Wales, trying desperately to be Welsh, and failing. Probably not if you go out in the suburbs, but Roath and Pontcanna are certainly not Welsh. | | | |

Iām not going to play along with your agenda because itās based on an insecure, chip on your shoulder attitude seen by many small minded Welsh people *and others) of similar backgrounds to your good self. But I will say objectively as an English fan that they were not good enough to win the WC. In fact there were only two good performances in the competition against Croatia and Mexico and those could have gone either way late into the games. If the media and FA take a step back, accept the shortcomings that is so evident in the England set up and start to instil an attitude that just turning up is not enough then maybe, just maybe theyāll win something. It will require a complete change in mindset from media, FA and fans alike though. |  |

No agenda, England are historically poor and are still underachieving, English media think they are great but the 'key performance indicators' prove they are not great at all, I wish the broadcast media would realise they are broadcasting to the whole of the UK when they come out with their biased nonsense. | |
