Is Rach jumping ship and leaving her Leader in the mire to forget him as a lost cause . Burnhams Election manifesto will be interesting news , if he ever is deemed as a decent and honest Politician . Sadly that available talent pool is really starting to annoy me .

Cash is added to your account to reinvest, normally it is temporary so it reduces your reinvestment by 22%.

This was always my greatest fear. A Labour Govt knowing that they're unlikely to win the next election, but having three years and a large enough majority to force through enough insane shit in the meantime to screw the country for decades. If they try to go down the PR route it could get even worse than that.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Labour politicians are struggling to say what Burnham's policies are likely to be, which begs the question why do they all support him apart from the fact he's not Starmer. My thoughts are things are not going to improve.

The end scenario is many will just stop saving and just say "to hell with it", a case of why bother if money gets taxed at 22%, and its even worse at 40% with inheritance tax. It'll be a case of p1ss it up against the wall and expensive holidays, or taking the "foot off the pedal", what incentive is it to be severely punished for long hours of hard graft, especially for self employed types doing work that is physically demanding.

What is this cash element? Is it money ‘invested’ in the money markets?

Clearly we live in a land where the feckless decide that the Staye will keep them from birth to death They will not work Their females will breed for houses from any fella that is convenient The state looks after their kids When old age comes , care isn’t an issue as they won’t have to sell a house to eat chicken nuggets and watch ITV 4 films on the day Life choice

My understanding is its not money invested in the money markets, its the interest on cash that is sitting in a stocks and shares isa that will be taxed. Its common to have some 'gambling' money in cash within these investments waiting for a chance to get 'on', or perhaps somebody has cashed out some investments and it's sitting there waiting for the punter to either withdraw it or gamble it again.

Thanks but I’m not understanding it still. I thought pitting your allowance into a S&S ISA will automatically be used in investing in the markets. We have one each but they are managed by a fund manager who coincidentally I am seeing tomorrow so I’ll ask him then.

Sounds expensive, a lot of boys just pick a world fund index to cut out the middle man.

| Starmer on 12:12 - Jun 24 with 1017 views | majorraglan | It’s my understanding that the tax will be paid on cash sitting in the stocks and shares Isa accounts as opposed to the money invested in stocks and shares. I suspect the move is to prevent people playing the system by opening the account for the purposes of “investing in stocks” and circumvent ing the process by just leaving the money in the account as cash and not investing it. If the reason for these accounts is specifically for people to use to invest in stocks tax free and people don’t comply, then taxing the money is fair game as people aren’t using the account for what it’s for and they could just leave the money in a savings account. However, I don’t agree with what Reeves has done in relation to ISA’s and there needs to be a fundamental shift in attitude and policy towards savings and investments, people need to be encouraged to take responsibility and those that don’t need to understand that they aren’t going yo be bailed out by the state. | | | |

It’s a front end cost. More expensive than doing it yourself but they are prifessional fund managers who have made us a decent return over the years.

Good luck to you but have they ? A monkey could have made a good return of the last few years, they reckon that over time a fund manager is unlikely to beat the return of the 'indexes'.

| Starmer on 01:56 - Jun 25 with 790 views | Robbie | Some Press outlets and reporting suggest Burnham has taken over the posioned chalice of getting to grip with the real UK issues and is already coming out with waffle. The bloke aint in the hot seat yet and already the knives are out on his potential decision making and upcoming if necessary manifesto ideas . Kemi is loving it seeing a Political Party in freefall and gloats at PMQ. Opposition Leader will not have to make the tough calls and dodge them in answers . Probably a far easier gig . First impressions are lasting impressions are and I am dubious on Burnham. There is a song title in that last sentence for us coffin dodgers . | | | |

Do you think austerity was a good idea? We're still trying to recover from it. It was an ideological decision not an economic necessity despite the narrative from Cameron and Osborne. There was also a huge political cost to Nick Clegg personally and the Lib Dems collectively as a result of them being in coalition at the time and the decisions they were part of.
