My guess is he was expecting to go to the big show, and it isn't happening. Hence severe disappointment.
If nothing happens by the end of the window then reset, re-think his role in the team and give him something to buckle down to. I'd be surprised if he doesn't do it.

Difficult question but I do tend to match your view and he hasn't had a pre season as well as he could have.

That makes sense to me, but I’m thinking more about ‘should we’ than advocating it.
It’s a fine balance between sticking with him to selling him. Clearly Stewart was brought in to back up Idah, IMO. And there will be interest this week. I’m still not convinced by the injury and think it was more of a preservation thing with him carrying a minor knock.
Either way freeing him up would save the club 100k or so a month. However, Shamrock are weighing into the club, so maybe it’s all good ? | |

If Vip stays he will be a good squad player who I think will reach 10 to 15 goals
But I just have gut feeling he won't hit the heights of last season. I stand by my opinion last season, we have to cash in on him. Anything from 18 to 20 million. Otherwise I can only see his stock going down. Idah is a Matos type of player. People are saying Vip didn't have the service yesterday. True. But Idah created far more chances by his willingness to press and get something out of it

I agree with the concensus on here that we should probably cash in now for anything north of £15m. I know he hasn't had much time on the pitch but his body language suggests to me that he's ready to go. When Idah was on the pitch he was dropping deeper to get on the ball to link the play whereas Vipotnik was just moving purely across the front line waiting for things to come to him. | | | |

Zan is our best choice at 9 , his lay offs and ability to hold the ball and bring players into the game are exactly what we need in our formation
Idah is a good second striker and is better when he comes in off the left , like he’s done his whole career ,Stewart is an old fashioned ,no nonsense 9 ,who needs good and consistent service
3 different types of strikers,who each have their own strengths and weaknesses
Zan is the better all rounder and I hope we keep him
