One of the EUs largest net contributors is running out of money. Just the time then to rejoin according to our economics experts.

Exactly. Pay £1 in, get 50p back and be told exactly where to spend it. Pure farce!

It's not just France having difficulties,

Then on the other hand, it's not like the Uk is doing brilliantly but we are not doing as badly as many predicted, despite doom and gloom merchants insisting we are.

Correct. Key passage from first link:

"In the Eurozone, individual countries are no longer able to devalue their currencies to regain competitiveness; so the only alternative is savage public sector cuts. Countries of Central and Eastern Europe are suffering from the collapsed export markets of Western Europe. The recent fall in the price of oil and the economic sanctions due to the conflict in Ukraine are impacting not only Russia but also the other neighbouring European states."

Would you give up the Pound Sterling for the Euro? At the same time, the ability to print money only delays the inevitable: Burnham needs to control those in the PLP who won't allow cuts to the huge welfare bill.

Yet the current Government keeps desperately pushing the lie that we'd be stronger back inside the EU. That was nonsense in 2016 and it's even more obvious bollocks now, no matter how many political commentators on twitter whine about the occasional airport queue.

The EU is dying on its arse. The more time passes the more likely it becomes that the voters of one of the other major players like France or Germany will either want to radically restructure it or leave themselves. Like with the UK their political elite will do everything it can to screw democracy over and avoid this, but ultimately it will happen unless they want a civil war.

If Labour win the next election I suspect they'll try to force us back in without a vote.

Mornings ng Boundy

Burnham infinitely more dangerous than Starmer or anyone since Bliar
We are on a down bound train , for sure

Burnham is super popular in the northern traditional Labour heartlands
He will be in the Welsh valleys and Geirdieland

He will be detested however in other places

I wonder if the EU is thinking it may have been better for them to give in to a few of Cameron's requests.

If the EU was capable of self-reflection it probably wouldn't exist in its current form.

The EU should never have been anything mor than a trade bloc. We'd still be members then. If it had a better grasp of economics and kept a lid on prices thingsb wouldn't be so bad today.

The political integration nonsense combined with the woke agenda around immigration has done a lot of damage.

Interesting analysis of just how serious the problem of the French debt could be:

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/mone

Burnham seems to want to carry on with his ambition to rejoin regardless.

Eric Arthur Blair - George Orwell....

Wrote a book about a dystopian future where the state controlled everything even thoughts through propaganda, coercion and gaslighting..

Tony Charles Lynton Blair - the evil piece of human excrement that set his namesake's work in motion with art imitating life and life imitating art.

This has all been very conveniently and surreptitiously arranged all along as far as I can make out...

Eric tried to warn us - he was no fan of the Fabians and their ilk.

"Intellectual, tract-writing … high-minded Socialist slum visitors, who had no actual affinity for the working class they purported to champion. Their socialism, he argued, was not about improving the lives of ordinary people. It was about control."

Even Lenin called them a bunch of utter ****s.

Imagine that...? Lenin....yep that Vladimir Lenin.....warning the World about them.

Now in 2026 they sit in every government, on every NGO and the UN and its various chattels.

We're Friar Tucked...

France's unrest is just the first shots of a long war...

Seems fairly obvious given the renewed emphasis on this Russian "interference" cobblers and the rushed attempts to overturn voter ID requirements that the stage is being set to bounce us back in via a dodgy referendum.

Seems that the same people who welcomed Barack Obama stating that an independent UK would be at the back of the queue for a trade deal in the event of Brexit, and spent millions sending pro-EU propaganda to every household now have a problem with Government intervention in a supposed demcratic vote. The problem for them is that they seem to have difficulty providing any actual evidence of it.
