| WRU £18M loss for the latest financial year on 20:05 - Oct 26 by JJBomber | Lots of racing teams fly in to Pembrey international airport and test at Pembrey circuit. Could we also get passport and customs facilities at Swansea? That would certainly help. |
They used to do that, I didn’t realise they still did. What’s this about passport and customs?

It's 20 minutes to the pub and 60 minutes on the way back. The difference is staggering!

Is that still the case as the article is 6 years old. The Swans fly from Cardiff don't they, I saw Norwich did a couple of weeks ago.

Not sure, but it's not really the point. If Pembrey can do it, why can't Swansea? It doesn't have to be commercial flights, but international private jets for the likes of F1 teams or others who need our sports facilities.

I read that this morning and thought it made awful reading for Gwent dragons but, in spite of that evidence here we are. It does, however, seem to suggest that the largest portion of international players come from the Cardiff area which doesn't stack up.

Thats what I thought, it probably depends on what 100 they picked.

They will have to sell the club first, then apparently the four regions will tender to join the English Premiership. What's the betting that the WRU accept a low ball offer for Cardiff to leave more money in the purchasers pot to ensure a high tender, guaranteeing Cardiff are one of the two regions going forward. At the moment there is a minimum ground size of 10,000, but this can be phased in over 4 years with planning in place for promoted clubs. St Helens currently is not big enough, but I'm sure planning could be in place pending a successful tender, the council would be in full support.
