Arias situation 14:36 - Aug 30 with 4640 viewsmagicdaps10

http://sportwitness.co.uk/swansea-city-transfer-situation-confusing-everyone-def

We done similiar last year with Mbodji. With Mbodji we agreed terms and fee and when it came to him coming over for a medical we decided not to answer the agents or Anderlechts calls.

Seems the club like to filter that they are trying hard but pulling out so they dont actually have to sign the player. No wonder Jenks has a bad rep in certain quarters.

Nobody knows what's going on, probably because Droopy Huw himself doesn't know.

If true no way we are signing him tomorrow

"We tried to sign one or two players but things didn't quite work out".

Probably because the selling club(s) didn't receive a bid.

How much longer is this devious cùnt going to take the pisś?

If personal terms have been agreed with the player and he's passed a medical, he can go to Colombia while the 2 clubs sort out the fee and payment terms.

It's not just us confused then. I've just got this picture of Huw sitting somewhere counting his fortune, laughing his arse off about the speculation, knowing that no real offers have been made.

If they have changed their mind on him then they probably see Clucas as the back up left back after signing Sanches(hopefully) to play midfield.

When Clucas was signed, I remember reading a Clement quote about his versatility and his ability to play left-back.

The quote is in this article. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/paul-clement-reveals-w

"He is a good footballer and that is what we want here at this club," said Clement.

"The fact he can play in so many different positions as well reinforces that he is such a good player.

"He can play at left-back or out wide if required, but first and foremost we see him as a midfielder whether that be in the middle or on the left side.

"As a young player he was a striker and a winger, and he has experience of playing at Premier League level and in English football in a wider sense."

So it looks like it may be Naughton/Rangel at RB/RWB and Olsson/Clucas at LB/LWB.

You are probably right as the match kick's off at 11.30PM so unless Huw catches him on his way in from the coach it's difficult - that said Alexis Sanchez has the same issue if he's to exit the Arse

Clubs are able to sign players (do all the necessary paperwork) subject to a medical (the medical comes later and if he fails, he doesn't get formally signed).

So the fact he's in South America is not necessarily fatal to the deal.

Just saying.

Oh,..Dave, what's occuring?

Hope not. We need a RB to compete with Naughton. What if he is suspended or injured? Really don't fancy Rangel as cover.

What about Santiago Arias?

Mr Arias has slipped under the radar a bit with all the excitement around the likes of Sanches and Bony.

However, we understand the Swans are still open to the possibility of sealing the deal for the PSV full-back, even though the player has flown off to play for the Colombian national team.

It is understood there have been talks about a potential deal that would see him make a switch to South Wales to link up with Paul Clement’s side, though there has been little suggestions of any progress in recent days.

It is not thought a fee has been agreed, Arias having said to be valued at £12m and claims Swansea are only willing to offer £7m — though reports in the Netherlands have insisted no actual bid has been lodged for the 25-year-old.

If you have an 'Arias situation'....then just wax that 'Arias'. Problem solved.

Good luck, Mr Cooper

Well, if no bid has been lodged, then that's that as I guess it's too late now.

I don't know if he still has any inside information but when a fan suggested to John Van Zweden that a good deadline day would be signing Bony, Chadli & Sanches he responded saying Arias too.

Still odd selling our only defensive back up (Kingsley) if deal wasn't agreed done. Hope we don't do same with Llorente. Imagine Tammy and Mawson injured? Ayew alone upfront and I guess Fer covering like last year?
