I haven't been impressed with Pearlman despite the rhetoric. He has got the stadium lease thing over the line, but the jury's out on whether that's a good thing or not. Other than that, he doesn't seem to be making a big difference to the bottom line on commercial income. Maybe last season's accounts will tell a different story. And maybe much of what he does goes under the radar? Don't know. But LCV and an anonymous shirt sponsor would have been well within the reach of the old setup.
And even if they were able to double/triple commercial income, the amounts are inconsequential compared to the losses of relegation because the Yanks have failed to manage the playing side properly.
