I remember at the time Rodon went for £11m and Phillips of Liverpool lined up. Instead Bennett and Latibaudeire came in. Just what the doctor ordered in January. £11m in then a rock solid experienced replacement for the promotion drive. They are all great players in the January window. Fans are up in arms about OReilly, Longman, Fraser not coming. Lets review March 2023. Ryan Woods Potter had to have him £7m. A 'no brainer' brilliant star. 3 years later Ryan Who? available for free. "Goykeres he is rubbish. Get rid". [Post edited 15 Feb 2022 15:08]

Not far out. Maybe comes up to 12k with appearance and other bonuses? Players have short careers so don't really care what they earn, providing the club isn't trying to get into debt by paying the stupid money. You know, the PL wages and those of certain clubs. The ones like where Ferre had bought a house

Players wages on 20:18 - Feb 16 with 1051 views | Kilkennyjack | Premier money for premier players is the way of the world. The TV money talks. Do these Swans players really deserve all this money ? Maybe it should be more linked to points/results/league position ?

Would make it very hard for weaker sides to sign players. Who would go to a club where you're likely to earn far less if your 10 teammates can't do the job? Majority of club owners would love the idea, though. Shifts the financial risk from themselves to their employees.

Sorry Jasper, i meant all of them. So a base salary of, say, £1,000 per week take home. (No idea tbh). Way way beyond most of us of course. Then extras for getting points, league positions, both, etc. Its about incentives. I am not asking for anyone to starve here. Do well then earn the big bucks. And the club should budget for that. Of course the Academy should provide cheap young players. Help balance the squad costs. Do others think these contracts should not be performance linked in sone way ?

Contracts do have performance incentives. We saved £4-5m on survival bonuses for the season we got relegated from the PL. I don't see a compelling argument why clubs should save enormous amounts of money when the team is underperforming. Maybe the ticket price should be cheaper when we lose? Less ads pitchside and on TV? Free pints. Otherwise it's just ways for owners and executives to protect projected profits (or manage losses) at their employees expense. The club will bring in ~£15m this season whether we finish 17th or 7th. [Post edited 16 Feb 2022 21:22]
