Cooper may well be on a list, but what would he achieve at Palace ? He would be in the let’s get results market, which is what the premier league is. If he got the swans up, and that’s a huge if he would not be under the same pressure. The only thing that sways him is finance. Coopers way, how he has managed and coached would be difficult for any premier league club to understand or give him time to do. Big pressure leagues don’t have time for planning, when as at palace every game is a desperate desire to stay in the premier league. It’s impossible.

Potter left ( I believe ) because of the Americans, Cooper could stay for the same reasons. It’s crucial.

He would get a serious contract and if fired another one.

I can see him certain to leave if we fail to go up.If I were our owners I d be making ever so subtle enquiries now as to who to replace Steve.

I would like him to stay.
And i think he will until the end of the season.
He has put to much into this season.

After that i would not be so confident.

Money talks and Mr Cooper has every right to look after himself and his family.

Then I guess we get, maybe .... Chris Coleman .... 😎
Obviously Graeme Jones would be on the list like every other time ... 🤦‍♂️

Once people start collating possible replacements for Cooper, reality sets in very quickly and I think they realise what we have.

We are very fortunate to have the management team we do.

Didn't Cooper recently sign a new contract? Not that it would keep him here, but another team would need to pay more.

Nothing to do with tripling/quadrupling/quintupling his annual wage and having the opportunity to manage in the best football league in the world, an opportunity he may never have gotten again?

Neither would Potter if he didn't improve on his underwhelming first season in English football.

Yes, he left because of the Americans. You’ve actually agreed.

Can't agree , Cooper for his as a manager all faults has took the Club which could have plummeted down the leagues into playoff position in his first season and barring a major collapse of form will at least do the same this season , with very little financial support .He's still got a lot to learn but if the likes of Allardyce or McCarthy are still seen a decent option then I'm sure Cooper will be afforded the same opportunity.

Potter was given £7m to spend by the Americans and wasted it. Had Potter had Mr Scott as his transfer guru Swansea could have been promoted with McBurnie James Rodon Roberts, Grimes coming throught the ranks. McKay, Celina Asoro and John all gone at a loss.

Rightly or wrongly he won’t be their 1st choice, if a couple such as Eddie Howe turn them down then it could be a possibility.
Goes without saying that us getting promoted would alter the situation hugely

Potter knew the job we wanted from him and he was quite happy to take it on those terms, so I've never been massively convinced by the argument that the Americans drove him away. He's a bright guy. He knew the score.

A better opportunity came along and he decided to go with it rather than carry on with the rebuild here. It happens. Most of us would do the same thing.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Potter however often spouted the project bollox which he wanted to see through.

Move on by all means but avoid the trite management speak that defined him.

I didnt mean drive him away, I’m more in the failed to impress him with their commitment ( they were hardly holding swansea to heart at that time ) He saw that, and yes financially it would have been a point, but I’m certain with more commitment and time given to him, I suppose the word is support, I just think he would have stayed. I think our experiences over the years have may be dented our belief in any manager that comes along.

As is the way, we ultimately played to his character which is drab. Clever intentions and words, but lifeless. A boring run of the mill defender who didnt quite reach the heights.

Got himself a degree from some two-bit polytechnic in EI and cleverly announced himself as a messiah. Ironically our major weakness under him was how he failed to get the best out of the sum of our parts. Made some shocking recruitment decisions and even worse positional decisions. The terraces were totally underwhelmed.

Brighton were on their a#rse until the recent fluky run of wins. Some people have selective memory, aye.
