It's Liz Truss don't believe a word she says, she has not got a clue, they would have to change the rules, not saying they won't change the rules because the main woman has opened her gob, but at this point she is encouraging people to break the law.

There were quite a number, I have mentioned it before, my grandfather was in the civil war for two years. Returned home and was arrested for telling the British army to fox trot when they said he was enlisted for ww2. He actually served in the British army in the early thirties. Stubborn Irishman he was. Hated fascists.
There was some story of two sides of Irish fighting in Córdoba at one point, I think Franco called the Irish who fought with him Brigada Irlandesa, it’s well known thousands maybe around ten thousand or so Irish men signed up for Franco, support for him was huge at the time. Ireland was a major supporter of him sadly. We should remember that Ireland was British but in transition ( or a free state after 1921) and many people supported Britain back then. Hence my grandfather serving in the British army not the Irish army.

Irish fighting for Franco yes but I have not heard of Brits (English, Scots, Welsh) fighting for Franco, there might have been the odd one for Franco (not that I have heard mind) but there was a few thousand that fought for the international brigades from Blighty. | |
