Wales v Czech Republic : Matchday Thread UPDATED ! 02:23 - Mar 29 with 2216 viewsNotLoyal

It’s tonight.

For Ukraine.

Manager Rob Page spoke to the media earlier today and provided an update on the fitness of his squad following the victory over Austria on Thursday night.
Cymru take on the Czech Republic in Cardiff on Tuesday in a match that will mark goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey's 100th international appearance and will raise funds for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. Page is expected to make a number of changes to his starting line-up for the international challenge match.

"The important game for us is done," said Page. "Thankfully we got the positive result. There's a few stiff bodies out there, Aaron [Ramsey] and Gareth [Bale]. Joe [Allen] has taken a knock as well so we'll assess them before we select our 23." Page also confirmed that Ben Davies has returned to Tottenham Hotspur and that Dylan Levitt is unavailable through illness.

"He's played a lot of football recently and I think it's just common sense," said Page about Davies. "I don't see any point in risking him whatsoever. It's no good sending him back to Tottenham injured. It's more of a precaution - he's not injured. We're showing them [Spurs] respect by sending him back fit and healthy for their game.

"This gives me an opportunity to see some of the fringe players, to see some of the players that didn't play on Thursday evening that haven't played a lot of minutes for us at international level who are doing really well at club level. It gives us an opportunity to use it as an exercise to give them minutes, have a look at them at this level and expose them to international football ahead of a big month in June."

Wayne Hennessey captain for 100th cap.

Possibly a few changes. Would be good to see Ben start.

Live on S4C, not sure about sky

If Cabango isn’t involved in a meaningful way Swansea should block any further call ups. He’s better off having afortnight training with the club.

He has to start. Nothing in this, almost a training game.

Wales are making the same performance the rugby team made over Biggar's 100th cap and AWJ 150th cap. The danced partied and celebrated thes land, marks and got a humiliating defeat against the whipping boys of the 6N.

Football is a team game and it should not be led by publicity and media considerations.

Cabango is a free man and will do what is right for Big Ben. The club have no say in this matter. Ntcham went to Africa and did not play either. It is the nature of the beast. Ben mixing with Welsh stars is good go for the club.

Wales reserves. 10 changes. Only Hennessey keeps his place, and only because its his 100gh cap.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

When he becomes a joe Allen or a joe Rodon, a dan James, or a Connor roberts they can brag.
Their academy has produced nothing of note yet. And I do say yet.

Gunter looks out of place even in a second string side this poor. 18 games in League One this season but still one of the first names on the list for the lads weeks away.

Well I think he is a special player who is destined for the very top.

Yes the first one they have produced since Rambo, but i can only tell you what his potential looks like to me.

He is going to be a top top player, as Fergie once said.

Gutted as i hear his family are Swans fans.

He’s a young lad with lots of potential there’s been loads over the years some have stepped up & some have withered away so please reserve judgement please people until what’s to be is to be ….

My lad played in Wales Victory Shield Squad and captained Swansea Schoolboys but never ‘made it’ in football despite playing alongside Connor, Joey & Kyle Copp but we all enjoyed the ride as long as it lasted taking him all over the country playing against the best Academies in the UK memories which simply can never be repeated.

Enjoy today for what it is Ruben you’re a tremendous player even though you’re a Jack at heart 😉😂👍

I think Brennan Johnson is the pick of the bunch.
Destined for the Premier League.
Not with the Florists though ...

What money went to the Ukraine appeal? It was an 'Ukraine appeal' money raising event but did any of the FAW ticket money and the Czech FA fee go to the appeal.

The FAW statement does not explicitly say this. It says fans can make a donation when buying their ticket and there will be collection as around the stadium. Football events have a history of grey areas in these matters.

It says -
{Tickets for the match are on sale and can be purchased at the link below, where you can also make a donation to the Ukraine appeal prior to checkout. Tickets are available to purchase until kick off.}

Ah that Tony Pennock, he made the biggest mistake ever by any Jack vs Cardiff, when playing for Yeovil.

Kevin Nugent will recall it as well.
But with far better memories.

Its on this link.

Agreed, looks the real deal.

Cymru also have Ethan Amps and big Joe. Plus David Brooks. And Neco.
Future looking well stocked.

FAW doing a great job.
