Just popped in t have a look at the reaction.Plenty of excitement then. Work in progress.Just let Russ have another window /s . He'll be giving us better times. There are clear signs of progress. Loads are seeing us as real paly off candidates next season.
I will be glad when this season is over, I think we are reaching critical point with regarding the owners. They have to back Martin next year or I fear fall back to league 1/2 days.
Take out the loan players, the players that are frozen out, players that have pouted, plus the potential of one or two better players leaving, leaves the squad needing major surgery. This is not a transition season to better things, we are in the brown stuff, the current system requires certain type of players which are harder to come by. We have basically ignored signing winger type players now and we need to sign a lot of central defenders to cover three in the middle. Which on the whole makes the squad look imbalanced. We can't change systems so easily, like if we started with flat back four.
Even when you know, you never know?

Glad to see you are coming to join us from the dark side with regards to Martin
Yes,I love HIM really. This medication is powerful stuff ,mind.
It s raining and the freshness of the grass, the revitalised flowers and the hissing of summer lawns. The way a water butt fills .These are a few of my favourite things. Julie won't mind I don't think.

Martins whole career has been good runs interspersed with calamitous defeats and resting generally in the mid table. There is no evidence at all he can sustain a promotion push.
Clearly with MK Dons doing well he set up a good foundation to allow another to push on. Swansea against good sides are far too open to have nay chance of wining which is the objective. The experiment need to have been made this season and like any experiment tweaks have to be made and flaws rectified.
Cooper did a severe audit of Swansea game plan and found it wanting for a second time. Fans want to see progress. There is not evidence Martin can adapt to manage big teams in the Championship with a 6ft 3in centre forward scoring a header from a corner using muscle. Keeping possession and avoiding corners is unrealistic. He picked a short goal keeper and short defender by choice. Brave little fellas need help. Surridge should have got an elbow in the chops from Benda perhaps. It is not netball.

I have been giving him the benefit of the doubt time to experiment and perfect his methods. I expect to see progress. The stats yesterday were horrific from minute 1. He was pleased with the first half but there were 13 shots off target and 7 on target in one half.
Martin has presented himself as a football academic or a teacher of his methods. This is credible. In any research the theory needs to be supported by actual results. If the results do not fit the theory the theory needs to be looked at again.
Martin was theorising again. No one was to blame the theory is right and the players were "brave" . This theory suggests against big teams you do not pick big defenders but prevent the ball getting into you box for big centre forwards to attack by not allowing them the ball. This mean no corners or free kicks in your own half. It is a very big ask.
Ideally Mr Allen would have audited the theory by use of statistics. The game plan yesterday produced the reverse of what it was intended to do.
The club has no tall centre backs good enough to play centre back and the club has put too much load on a young man Cabango to bear the load. He got targeted by an old pro manager Parker who has lived in the Premier League and the club has got caught short in terms of numbers. He was roughed up by two huge forwards Solanke and Moore. He was brave but his manger did not really help him. The teenager signed in January was playing games on his phone instead, pining for a return Manchester no doubt.

I agree.
The evidence was there long ago though. His stint at MK Dons said all there was needed to know. His interviews from his second season showed he learned nothing and could not understand why his methods were failing.
He has said on several occasions that he doesn’t understand how his side lost despite dominating the ball. He has continued to say that now into his third season. When asked about changing his style he remarked that there is nothing wrong with the tactics because they had more possession, that was as deep as it went.
His methods are flawed and he can’t work out why. He is as much a football academic as I am a brain surgeon.

He s brilliant. Few could dupe fans into accepting shipping three goals to effectively lose a game then to see the club humiliated at Forest . Excuses being offered too.

I watched his interview with the missus earlier, she also sees right through his rubbish. She turned it off after 2 mins thankfully to save me the frustration.
I was done as soon as he said he thought we did well first half. I’m amazed we didn’t go into half time 5-1 down. I said that on the match day thread.
Cooper also said the exact same thing after the match. How Martin can say he was happy with that first half is an absolute indictment of his ability to read a game.
Forest 4th min - Save forced from Surridge shot 6th min - Garner shot blocked from Christie that looked a certain goal 10th min - Surridge through on goal and gets his 1 on 1 chip all wrong 22nd min - Fisher makes another excellent save from Collback 22nd min- Ball bundled in Goal Forest 29th min - Another excellent save from Fisher parrying Worralls shot for a corner 42nd min - Save of the match Fisher fully stretched pushing onto post 42nd min - Fisher saves with feet from point blank Surridge header 44th min - Colback fires wide from a cut back that should have been smashed home 45th min - Surridge misses yet another one at the far stick
Swansea 28th min - Obafemi scores with our first real chance 45th min - Obafemi shoots straight at Samba who beats ball out
The fact he was happy with the above is terrifying

You did what .?
I was otgerwisecengaged. Great decision by me to cancel my Trip to East Midlands and go Anglesey .
I have long since erased the coach s interviews from my brain. They are viscerally damaging but I credit the guy with his PR. He should be a hypnotist. He is working intelligent fans like Paul McKenna .
Incredible
He s tailor made for Norwich and can give their fans exciting football at his former club. Tim Krul would be the first to get shafted .

I saw far more shots on goal in the first half than that mate.

To be honest I’m done with him, and have been for most of the season. I now refuse to listen to his totally delusional, post match interviews. Both him and his staff, haven’t got a clue how to set up a defensive system. Our goals against column is a damning indictment of his totally blinkered view, of possession for possession sake football. We are now a laughing stock for our shambolic defending. Time for him to go, but how long will it take for the owners to see that the Emperor is not wearing any clothes ??

If they purchase him some to his liking in the summer and he still doesn’t deliver then you have your answer.

I will look forward to the new season IF Martin gets the players that he will have targeted. I will still turn up anyway, rather than spend all my time moaning and groaning on forums.

So by not moaning and groaning ,it would appear you have nothing to moan and groan about-football wise anyway.
If you are happy with this garbage then I am speechless-almost.

This is almost a completely different team to the one seen last season. Some of those he inherited are clearly ones he likes and wont want to lose, so not sure what the issue is with personnel.
Fisher
Naughton Downes Cabango Christie
Pato Ntcham Wolf Grimes Piroe
Obafemi
Cabango, Naughton and Grimes being the three players that he inherited that were here last season. I can't see him wanting any of them out... so why does this rely on him signing even more players?
This is essentially his team now.

Forest's 17 shots on target Saturday, was a record for any team in the 4 English divisions this season.
Saturday, particularly the second half, was shambolic. Cabango missing is a valid excuse, but the team was set up all wrong. One of those games when we knew what they were going to be like and we got the defensive line up badly wrong. That said Forest were irresistible and could easily have scored 10

Read my reply to you. Possibly spells out what Builthy is expressing ?
Possibly not. Builth is expressing a view for the forum s consumption.
Read what I post, look in the mirror and ask yourself if that which I opine has merit.
We have become an embarrassment and Builth is utterly irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, like me and you.
Please do not ever tell me we do not deserve better ,If you do,please shove me on ignore and keep it there .
You have no evidence that the coach will get anything at all better ,let alone make us a proper club which failed Tosh,Rodgers,Sousa,Martinez and Harry G. We are and we’re a proper club and no Right on Brighton vegan is going to insult my club without a come back.

The point is about balance in everything. I have criticised the manager and individual players if I felt it was warranted. IMHO ( and what I think Builthy was alluding to ) is that your criticism seems to be for criticism's sake and therefore just comes across as moaning. None of us have evidence that Martin will get better ( although there have been periods when it seemed he was changing the style as required ) Nor is there evidence that he won't. The summer will I have no doubt involve meetings and reviews between Martin, the owners and their representatives such as Winter. I have no doubt, as Keith alluded to, a big pros and cons, what went well and what didn't. Not sure why you think he has "insulted the club" ? The owners employed him with a desire to play "the Swansea Way". He has attempted to do that. Has it always worked ? Certainly not ? However his failure ( so far ) to implement a style which is a pleasure to watch and brings success is by no means insulting you, any other fans or the club. Believe me I did my fair share of cursing and moaning during and after the game on Saturday. However, keeping on moaning about it is counter productive
