I can see us and what I hear that we will be playing a back 4 more a bit more this season.
Right backs-Naughton and Sorinoma(both can also play left side and Naughten even in at centre half)
Left backs-Manning and Ogbeta
Centre halves-Darling, Cabango, Joel L, Wood, Cooper(Joel L can also cover Right back).
I think Cooper may likely go out on loan and Wairi Williams will spend most of his time with the U21s.
Looking at the squad, I would imagine after Allen's arrival we would be looking at a right sided player like this Ogbene at Rotherham, a younger central midfielder and a creative no 10 and then we are in good shape.
Big push to move/loan out Bennett, Whittaker, Cullen, B Cooper, Fulton, Dan Williams. Assess where we are towards the end of the window and if we have shifted most or all, we might possibly look at another creative player on loan is my guess.
If we manage to hold onto Piroe and Obafemi for one season I can see this team going all the way. I think Ogbeta has laid his cards on the table and will force his way into the team. I feel him, Darling and Congrieve are going to be the ones to watch this season. Replacing Downes with Allen is an excellent piece of work, as Downes was destined to go anyway

I'm more excited for the start of this season than I have been for a good few seasons. This could soon be deflated if we lost Piroe, he and Obafemi are the key for me this season.

Bless you Whitey.
May you always be excited May you always be a child May you always have the courage to let your dreams run wild.
The Haverfordwest highlights looked like the first string side were playing with a back four with the fullbacks stepping narrow into midfield and our wide players being actual attackers. Like how we played against Barnsley and the successful part of the Bournemouth game last season.
We don't have enough wingbacks at the club to commit to Martin's usual formation. Even if he has a complete change of heart over Ogbeta. Plenty of winger/wide striker options.

Looking forward to it all STID?
Definetly. Optimistic that this is going to be a memorable season under Martin. Joe Allen back, young players in the team or coming in, together with a few experienced heads. What's not to like ?

Agree, although hopefully if it happens RM will have someone lined up to replace him. I don't think the time is right for Piroe yet though, no real interest in him. Need to get rid of a couple of players who will not feature, especially Fulton and Bennett. No matter who wears the captain's armband, Joe Alllen will be the leader on the field

If we don't lose anyone we'd rather not lose, I am very excited for this season, Joe Allen is going to make a huge difference, he's a world class player, who's living the dream playing his last few seasons in his boyhood club.
Reckon we may have one or two more coming in too.
This is the season it will click
Saying that growing up in the 80s I was always convinced Wales would win the 5 Nations, so don't listen to me

Joe will be living the dream as will we. Ask Hartson his one regret.
Hartson did not go to Liverpool or Chelsea he went to Luton as a teenager. He could have come to Swansea but chose WBA on bigger money. He touted himself for Swansea when all other option were no longer available and he was no longer viable. He would have been Bony2 who also loved the club.
I do not criticise him. He did his best for his family but Swansea city legend he is not. He however did not play for Swansea anywhere near his prime and declined to play for Wales for a spell as well when things were not so good.
Giggs Hartson Bellamy. Should have been unplayable. World ranked 123.

He did not play for us at all, hence his regret, speak to him and he will tell you.

Swansea still have 2-3 loans options presumably. The club have made a mess of these under Martin apart from Christie. Parrott as rotational striker. I would like to see a young powerful midfielder to provide beef when the opposition goes route 1.
Martin need to be able to close out games after 70 mins. The collapses v ABFC, Reading and Forest are fresh in the memory. 12 goals in 3 second half collapses. A goal every 11 minutes.
How have the signings solved this issue. ? The issues of a record number of shots on goal by Cooper's Forest at the City ground. I hope Winter is asking these questions in the absence of a DoF.
If Martin does not like questioning of his methods sack the man asking them. Wenger was the same. Having said that I would settle for Wenger.

Don't think you can compare the two. Allen is still turning it on at International level
Bony has not played 10 consecutive games for 3 or 4 years. A little spell in Arabia that is it. He did not play for Stoke or Swansea or since he has left. He is good at proving his fitness in the gym but not on the playing field.

So does Jonny Williams.
Johny deserves his place. He performs better than the much more highly rated Tom Lawrence according to Mr Page. It is a matter of getting he right balance and mentality.
I had a prejudice against JW as his approach seemed not to beating his man but getting free kicks in an around the penalty area for GB.
I saw one game where he fell over 20 times and got not one free kick. Later he seemed to get the message and played much better. Matondo can learn from him. Losing the ball is one thing but if you can get it straight back or deflect it to a colleague it is another.
