| Wales : Getting knocked out ? A bitter pill or a chance to rebuild ? on 09:19 - Dec 1 with 1016 views | STID2017 | Of course it was disappointing. Great to get there but never attained the standards required to make any impact. However in the ( very ) cold light of day, we weren't good enough, too many of our players were at the last chance saloon and out tactics on the field were awful. Time to rebuild using the nucleus of the side and definitely ( as we are stuck with Page ) new coaching assistants and ideas. | |

I mean qualifying for our first world cup in decades is a positive. As is the fact that we have a decent crop of youngsters in/around the squad. I hope the oldies know its time for them to call it a day and retire on their own accord. I'm not sure if Page has the bottle to make a decision like that.

We should have qualified for 78 and 86 . Robbed at both We had a good squad then with some world class players . It was hard to take Wales would have done ok at both had they qualified Current crop far less quality

Disappointing yes, 64 years ! somehow I cant see me seeing the next one. One supporter on BBC breakfast called Page inept. 4 years with a young bunch and ATM struggling in a few depts. going to be a long hard 4 years me thinks.
| Wales : Getting knocked out ? A bitter pill or a chance to rebuild ? on 16:26 - Dec 1 with 877 views | 1983 | Disappointed Yes Upsetting No There is a difference between qualifying for the world cup and actually playing in the world cup, I don't think we treated it with the respect it deserved we were still in the "nice to be here" attitude and then it was too late. | |

Greece won it with a team of well organised grafters. We have a squad of skillful players form the lower leagues (including Swansea and Cardiff) with a sprinkling of class and up and coming talent. We have no strategy and a poor manager who could not get the team to play accurately or deliver the ball to player of thread like Moore and Johnson.

So not a bitter pill or a chance to rebuild, getting knocked out was a frustrating inability to optimise our chances of progression.

Greece have never in their wildest dreams won the World Cup. They won the Euro's. Teams with far away far better quality players are on the plane home, Spain lost tonight France lost, Argentina lost, Germany lost. It was a really disappointing campaign by us, bu some perspective is needed.

Yes I meant the Euos of course which is the next tournament to rebuild for. Wales have to be more of a team with a clear ethos. Page's team was stale and unfit lacking in energy and physicality and carrying Ramsey Allen Bale and sadly out of sorts James. A Welsh team with no energy has no chance at all. Ward, Mepham, Rodon, Cabango Williams N, Norrigton-Davies, Sorba Johnson, Moore James, Matondo, Ollie Cooper Colwill and Isaac Davies Tom Lawrence, Wes Burns is something to build on.

Imagine being the Belgians or the Germans at this time then ? We weren't humiliated, just found very much wanting. Heck of a difference. Major positive is we finally appeared in a WC for the first time in 64 years. The effect of that is the same as if for example Cardiff won the FA Cup and laid to bed the "1927" jibes, or if won it once to say we had won it since. You then have a platform to build on

Of course we should have qualified then. However, like Swans should have got promotion to the First Division in the 1950's ( loss of Tom Kiley stopped us by all accounts), should have beaten Preston ( and again by all accounts would have beaten West Ham in the final ), more recently fielded the wrong side against Spurs in the FA cup and lost and should have beaten Man City in the same competition but were robbed, the list goes on. No points for shoulda, woulda, coulda, sadly

I was in school with his son. Very tall guy, but his sport was rugby, unlike his father. I am in touch with him now

We should have a pretty good core squad, but I'm not sure some of those listed are young enough or have enough about them to be of any use. Burns and Lawrence both approaching 30, one playing league 1 and the other not playing in the scottish prem. Matondo hasn't really done much since being hyped up going to Schalke, Davies and Colwill haven't really made much progress. For the sake of the national team the youngsters really need to kick on.
