His salary demands are said to be way above that the club can offer and most certainly way in excess of the reported eleven thousand pounds a week his new deal offers. Michael Obafemi has also once again let his attitude and behaviour and commitment affect his game and future at the swans. 1 If you want to remove this post from the board index, just click the hide post icon below. There is no loyalty in football, at least very little. We bomb players out when it suits us, they want out when it suits them, that's football. Crazy month is about to start again, I expect quite a few in and out again, especially the loans.

| Ryan Manning and Michael Obafemi also on their way out of Swansea ? on 13:16 - Dec 23 with 2377 views | theloneranger | It's no different from when he was at Southampton, and the manager Ralph Hasenhuttl said this in November 2020 ... “The problem with Michael was always he would play one good game and then fall back a little bit and was not professional enough to force or keep his position in the team or in the squad. “This makes it too easy for others to go above him. I think this is what he must learn. “Once he is in the squad, don’t give it away so easily and try to be aggressive and dangerous in front of the goal. “I think this is something he misses, but he’s young, he still has to learn a lot and this is a kind of mentality but is also a kind of quality.” 2 years later, not much has changed!! | |

Nice one. Not Martin’s player either. Obafemi is a disastrous professional footballer, he will never learn, spoilt child.

I’d be surprised if we got half of the reported 3 million Burnley offered in the summer. A non playing/scoring striker value only goes 1 way. Not sure why he is not playing but obviously he doesn’t fit into Martins plans. I’m not a fan of Manning due to his theatrics but he is a very good player at this level who improves our starting line up.

Surely the manager should try to manage him correctly? A managers job would be easy if every player was a model professional.

I think he’s made it more than clear Obafemi’s attitude is affecting his game and his opportunities.

Left out of the side for long periods of two seasons on a whim by a manager happy to let people believe that it was the players fault or decision. When not being scapegoated regularly moved in and out of the team regardless of form whilst others play week in, week out, especially this season. Never given a consistent run this season in the central forward role that he's streets ahead of Piroe in. And that's just from the club. His "attitude" on the pitch has always been spot on and his workrate outstanding. I'm afraid I simply just don't believe for a split second that he does a complete 180 off the pitch. Similar stuff was tried when Fulton was on Martin's sh*tlist. [Post edited 23 Dec 2022 13:37]

Plus he is possibly a bad example to other players. Bad apple syndrome, get it out before it does more damage. Manning IMO is a totally different situation. What is the position with Sorinola, he seems to have disappeared?

Read the lone rangers post about what his manager at soton said about him. Perhaps its Obafemis fault not Martin's, Perhaps Martin has done as much as he can do.

Martin has his faults but when it comes to players downing tools (oops according some that never happens ) then it's ingrained in Obi kenobi's DNA , Manning again has history that why we got hold of him , both better than they think they are

Martin does mess players about and this could have spooked him but his Soton sojourn reads the same . Manning …just fark off. A fey, weak non defender who chucks himself around in embarrassing fashion . Would he be missed ? I reckon not Frankly, few of us know what goes on

Add to that the number Russ has brought in and subsequently failed to live up to his expectations (Fisher, Darling) despite persevering with and there is a very clear pattern.

Robert's was coming to the end of his contract and was offered Premier League football and wages to match. Ntcham was only ever brought here with the intention to sell on and make money. Latibeaudiere and Manning share the same agent who thinks his clients are worth more than they are.
| Ryan Manning and Michael Obafemi also on their way out of Swansea ? on 14:59 - Dec 23 with 2042 views | ReslovenSwan1 | With some players the "penny can drop". The trick is to find a guy in his early twenties and somehow work with him such that he becomes a better team player. This is the 'penny dropping premium'. Swansea had Goykeres the same age as Obafemi and he did not impress Cooper who sidelined him and claimed he was not given a suitable centre forward. Now Coventry want £30m for him 24 months later. What happened over the last 24 months with this player? Did he get down to work (the penny dropped) or was he simply not used properly by Cooper and Potter. He scored his only goal from an assist from Garrick another disregarded player still struggling to make a breakthrough after a good season at Plymouth (at a FA cup win at Stevenage) . I believe too will become a good asset somewhere probably as a wingback. | |

| Ryan Manning and Michael Obafemi also on their way out of Swansea ? on 21:04 - Dec 23 with 1758 views | RichardO | Manning is the only viable left footed option on the left hand side that Martin is prepared to use, until an alternative which is acceptable to Martin is found then Manning must stay. Ntcham with time on his contract also must be kept. Lati also must be kept with Naughton reaching the comparable Wayne Routledge time of his Swansea career, unless Martin is so comfortable with his defensive 3 and he would be prepared to bring Brandon Cooper back into the fold. Obefemi pace might scare some defences but his finishing is poor and hold up play is nonexistent, bit harsh given the service to him is also nonexistent but is he any better than on loan Garrick who could trouble a 6 foot + defender. Bring Garrick back and cash in on Obefemi. . [Post edited 23 Dec 2022 22:32]

Any thoughts on Joe and Fulton in the middle with Grimes wide left. Grimes played several times as left back for us, he is a natural left footer and out wide he won't slow us down in the middle.
