That decision has been made because he feels he is PL standard and wants to go there now (or at least a club likely to be promoted). If the offers aren’t there, maybe he needs to set his sights lower?

There is no need for him to set his sights lower. He will have no problem finding a club when his contract runs out, with a signing on fee he will earn more than if he left now.

Thats all well and good. A season is a long time in football. He could break a leg or suffer serious injury. The long term financial security of a contract is debatably better than a quick short term fix.

He'll still fancy his chances. Career ending injuries are rare. Whatever they do the club can't win this one. Try to hold out for full value and be accused of dragging it out too long. Agree a quicker deal and get accused of selling too cheaply.

Manning and Latibeaudiere didn't think so, Manning is now reportedly on £35K a week now and not a patch on Piroe.
| Everton back in with a shout for Joel Piroe **Latest on 15:59 - Jul 28 with 1769 views | vetchonian | the sale of Piroe appears to be the key to remaining transfers let's hope this is sorted asap. Better we get some monies to help fund more incomings but I dont want to see him go but it is inevitable but better we "cash in" this season | |

Don't think I could cope with a third successive season with a manager playing a wingback system without the players suited to play in those positions

I agree a sale earlier is the way forward so there is more out there to scan over. But our owners have form for being greedy, you would think that they would have learnt by now 🤷

Like I said, they can't win. If they did as you proposed then no doubt there would be plenty of people whining that we didn't get "full value" for him. If they hold out as long as they can then plenty will accuse them of being greedy.

There has been no offer yet. The problems will start if or when we get an offer. We all know how it goes. An offer well below the club valuation will come in, there will be long winded negotiations until the club caves in & sells him for less than we all think is a good deal. This could well be deep in to the transfer window & we will be left in panic mode looking for a replacement, pay over the odds or quite possibly end up with what we already have, minus Piroe. There is a long history of this with this ownership set up. The optimism for the new leadership set up has rapidly evaporated since the early days of Duff taking command. The whole situation feels all too familiar, no incomings until the dead wood is shifted. I mean how long have we known that Manning was leaving & still no left back, no pace in the midfield, no wingers, a long injury list before a league game has even kicked off etc etc. Sounds familiar innit ?

Who ever buys him will get an excellent price and the owners of our club will take a cut of at least 75% and use some of what is left to bring in another striker simple really.

Why do you think nobody has met our asking price so far? There's obviously been interest
