Hull City v Swansea City : Match day thread 22:06 - Feb 6 with 12981 viewsModeratorC

Liam Rosenior with a glitzy transfer window behind him has seen his side win the last two league games. This after a poor run and much concern amongst a certain section of the Tigers support. Well, as it happens the Swans will be in town and they are desperate to arrest what has been a disappointing start to Luke Williams tenure.

It’s the Tigers v the Swans at the MKM stadium, not quite on the banks of the Humber as that would be a silly place to build a football stadium.

Hull City on a roll, only the Swans can stop them this weekend ! 6th Feb 2024 09:25
After a very decent January transfer window and players like Liam Delap getting near to fitness (on loan from Manchester City) Head coach Liam Rosenior has been backed to hilt by owner Acun Ilicali this season , and they are beginning to concern some of those end of season top six places in the Championship. 0

The Swans face Hull City away tomorrow and there’s much for head coach, Luke Williams to ponder on. He has revealed his new signings from January are all available, and some could possibly start. We expect Ronald to be one, and Placheta could be another to start. 0

An opportunity for the Swans today ? Put the ball away boys ! 10th Feb 2024 08:00
Cyrus Christie is available to Liam Rosenior this afternoon, and as a Swansea old boy you can be sure he will make an impact. Talking yesterday Rosenior was eager to play this game down even though his side are odds on favourites. 0

I was a little bit confident that we could sneak the points with a bit of luck...then i saw who the fourth official is. W⚓.

Snow forecast for that part of the world apparently. Wonder if game will be in doubt. It’s not the pitch, it’s the safety of people in and around the ground.

If Ronald and Placheta both play will it be the first time this season we have had a viable threat on both sides of the pitch, we have seen what difference having a threat on one side provides with Parker and Key, fingers crossed.

It will make a hell of a difference against teams like Plymouth who defended with quite a high line and kept compact throughout the game.

It’s effective when we haven’t got much pace because it compresses the space and makes passing football harder.

Can’t do that when they know they’ve got to stay 10 yards or so goal side of Placheta. Especially when Ronald is pretty rapid on the other side. All we need to do is play a few balls over the top and it will stretch teams out and create space for us.

Strange comments from Williams about Parker yes he is injured but there are other things that need to be worked on as well, from what I saw he gave the good defender marking him in the Birmingham game a lot of problems and that was before the second half with changes to his play in which he was instrumental in a goal. So I'm sure he can learn first football on the hoof rather on the training pitch but with Ronald here maybe for 20 minutes but in my eyes he has proven his worth to the squad.
Would note that when he played in front of Abdulai he didn't get enough of the ball as Abdulai also wanted to impress which he did but think he would have been better linking
up with Parker more, even to the point of a new partnership down the right?

It could be his physical strength, he's young and its a big step up.
