We should have let Routledge and Dyer go long ago. Narsingh is inconsistent and just not good enough.
I wonder if one of the reasons they are not making the squad is, that on top of their basic pay the have a large bonus for for making the match day squad and appearances. |  | | |

Dyer should be starting currently not sure what to make of Narsingh he struggled in the Prem but I think he would
do ok at championship

I certainly think Dyer is still capable of more than Asoro has shown us so far this season. Ok, Nath obviously isn't one for the future but on his showings so far, neither is Asoro tbh. The team needs improvements now and I think Dyer would be an upgrade on Asoro even if only for the short term.
Narsingh was always hit and miss and Routs clearly struggled in the Prem in the last couple of seasons but against lower standard opposition, both could probably still do a job.
We need extra bodies so if we don't get any more loans in as looks likely, surely these players will have to come into the equation at some point. It may not be part of GP's plan but when you are using a very small pool of 'preferred' players playing twice a week, 1 or 2 injuries or suspensions, and that plan goes out of the window and you end up doing whatever you have to do to get a competitive team on the pitch. |  | | |

Can’t see Routs playing as a central midfielder personally, both him & Dyer should never have been given new PL contracts although I agree Dyer could be utilised in the current squad.

To match or improve their wage, they would need a prem club to come in for them. That ain’t gonna happen. They must be worth a run out in this league surely though? I like McKay, he’s been unlucky not to score 2 worldies, but not at all convinced by Asoro, can’t see how he is better than the three mentioned, other than his age meaning greater potential.
I think it all boils down to wages in the end. Yanks want further cuts, and the old guard will be on way higher than the newbies. As we are overstocked on the wings they want rid. |  | | |

Yes I agree but the way it's going we will have 7 wingers 1 striker and short in central midfield.
Surely centre mid and a striker should have been prioritised first.

Would prefer a specialised CM but if we don't get one we may have to play him there only Fulton Carrol and Fer available.

Carrol confidence is shot.

All 3 are good enough for this level and say what you like about dyer t and routs they are different players when used in a passing forward thinking system, they've suffered with the dross of long ball and negative managers more than most, potter is their kind of manager IMO.
Also, i thought the whole idea of keeping these guys around anyway was an insurance if we dropped down a league, so seems pointless not playing them when they are clearly.better options than some of the others.
The harsh reality is that the likes of Grimes and Fulton look decent at this level so why wouldn't dyer and routs?
I actually.think players like Dhanda and Celina are far more on routs wave length than most of the previous players, I think both our senior players would do well supplemented by younger players .
I'm sure potter would prefer them to stay while the yanks just want to cut every wage to the Bone except their own .
Routs can play in the middle, dyer played as a striker under Laudrup and did ok in a higher league . |  | | |

The price will be irrelevant after Friday we will be stuck with their wage then so can then pick the best players as opposed to the cheapest. | |

Are they better players, though? Football moves quickly and it's been years since Dyer or Routledge have put in a notable performance at any level. We've seen already this season that young, unfancied players can step up and establish themselves very quickly given the opportunity. Not need to stick with the tried and "trusted".
Routledge is nearing 34. He's got no understanding built up with any of his current teammates. Playing for the present or not he doesn't make a compelling case for his hefty appearance fee. | | | |
