Stephen Stills was turned down for the Monkees and recommended Peter Tork.

Ah! The Monkees, an integral part of my summer holidays as a kid, always looked forward to watching them messing about and of course singing some great tunes, one of the highlights of my morning TV.
Sadly only two left I believe.
RIP Peter Tork.

Endearingly,whacky blues bass player.

Apparently a rare form of tongue cancer diagnosed 10 years ago.

I saw the Monkees at Newport Leisure Centre in March 1989, I had the ticket given to me and was apprehensive about going but they were excellent.

The Banana Splits wouldn’t have existed if it hadn’t been for the Monkees and Saturday mornings would never have been the same growing up.

Loved the Monkees....guess the Californian vibe beat West Wales monotony....they were silly as well...which appealed to me. Never met him at the Vetch though

The fame and work pressure drove them all nuts in the end.

He bought his way out of the contract early on for a lot of money and remained penniless up until the end...but happy apparently.

Money buys you nothing, happiness buys you everything ....👍👍

How much is enough ? How do you measure it ? Is it tangible or intangible ? .....maybe a question the Sellouts should one day consider retrospectively after their despicable actions.

If you’re a fan of the Club you ‘love’ then you’ll FOREVER be a fan of the Club you love, however, if you love your own wallet more than the Club you love and despite it repaying you handsomely on your initial investment over many years then you still sell out to the highest bidder without any conscience/consideration of the future implications for ‘the Club you love’ .....then instantly you become a slimy, Greedy B@stard Sellout who we want out of OUR Club.

Quite simple really yet we still have many, many fans who appear to be unable, or simply choose not to grasp this concept .......???

Not quite sure what the connotation is between The Monkees and Huw Jenkins & Co.,but yeah I get your drift.
