Perhaps he was about to get searched? Police officer has been killed, the 23yo suspect is in hospital with serious injuries. No police fire arms were used. RIP to the officer [Post edited 25 Sep 2020 9:01]

It wasn’t found in a stop and search before he was taken into custody. He shot the officer then shot himself in the head, according to reports [Post edited 25 Sep 2020 9:06]

| Croydon police incident on 09:38 - Sep 25 with 1477 views | britferry | A Metropolitan Police custody sergeant was shot dead at a police station in the early hours of today by a suspect who turned the gun on himself but is still alive. The sergeant was shot at 2.15am this morning by the man who was allegedly being detained for possession of ammunition at Croydon custody centre in South London. Officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics treated the unnamed officer at the scene before he was taken to hospital where he later died. [Post edited 25 Sep 2020 9:38]

Recently when reporting someone who dies involving the police the BBC and other media outlets always insist on pointing out the skin colour of the people involved as if it's vitally important but they must have forgotten to do so for this incident for some reason. [Post edited 25 Sep 2020 10:11]

I agree. In a perfect world, they would but sadly, not in the world we live in.

Sounds like a bitter ex plod to me. How do we know it wasn't a female officer who searched him? They can only do a basic pat down on males. Have they said where the weapon was concealed? Nah f*ck that, let's stoke some fires instead.

What reason you reckon? And is it only the dastardly BBC that do this, or all other news agencies as well? How interesting.

May be a simple reason nobody knows yet. Until he appears in court and his name is released.

They’ve just asked the guy for his expert opinion and he’s given it. I’m not sure he deserves to be attacked too. There’s probably a lot of frustration within the wider police force about being labelled institutionally racist by morons everyday.

Best not to even reply to posts like te one you've just responded too. You'd end up banned on the other site. [Post edited 25 Sep 2020 11:04]

What shite is he and I trying to stir up out of interest? You have a leading ex police officer who has been asked for his opinion and has given it, and I’ve just quoted it word for word. That’s not stirring up shite. There’s no shite involved, that shite was on the bbc website and I merely copied and pasted that shite to add to the discussion on this thread.

| Croydon police incident on 11:12 - Sep 25 with 1332 views | Gwyn737 | Awful situation. Looks like there's lots of anticipation to find out the race of the killer with each side desperate for more ammunition for their argument which is sad. It's not about who wins, I'd just love to know how the thought process works for a person who sees a direct quote from the BBC website posted and immediately links it to "Stirring up shite". It's like when that other plonker called me a racist for posting unedited Stormzy lyrics. How do their brains possibly reach these conclusions? It's absolutely fascinating. | |

It is absolutely common sense that in the current climate the police may be very reticent to search If that was a particular factor in this case remains to be seen, but the concept is far from shite as you have been accused for quoting a BBC report RIP to the officer
| Croydon police incident on 12:28 - Sep 25 with 1228 views | Dr_Parnassus | How can the leftie mob even be arguing this? Of course interaction with police is going to be a lot less and a lot more hesitant now with this focus on potentially escalated situations and of course the media leave out skin color if there is no black victim. It isn't even up for debate, there is no need to pretend this isn't the case just for further conflict. | |
