Guilty of second degree manslaughter

That looks confusing to me, guilty of murder AND manslaughter?

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

A copper in prison is going to get a rough ride anyway.

Imagine he will be dead soon either by another inmate or he will do it himself.

Indeed.

I have to say this.

Black Police officers will have shot dead thousands of white people.

If we are all for equality, let's see equal outrage.

Let's also see equal outrage for white victim of crime, whether they be white or black.

We are going down a dangerous road here as we are inviting true racists to gorge on what is a complex issue of mistrust ,contempt and pure hatred.

Racism will always be with us whether it is on the surface or beneath and we need to understand this.

We need to live with our various prejudices and keep them in house. It is a challenge for us all as individuals.

It doesnt help with politicians making it a point scoring exercise

A society with way too many guns in circulation makes police officers stressed, jumpy and at times over reactive whilst making ruthless criminals even more dangerous. Who'd want to be a policmen across the pond?

I suggest a lot of terrible and tragic circumstances witnessed over the last couple of years would never ever have happened in a country with sensible gun control.

It had me wondering too but that was as the judge read it out, minus the extra blurbs!

In this country, isn't unintentional murder just called manslaughter? Where's the experts when you need them!

he's obviously going to appeal.

It was announced during the trial, that Floyds family had received a $27m payout from the Minneapolis from a civil lawsuit.

Plus the President stuck his oar in stating he was guilty

Biden was outrageous .
This fella could never ever have had a fair trial as a not guilty verdict would have seen America burn from Scranton to Sacramento . Let s not kid ourselves this trial was fair .it was a show trial.

He might just well have been lynched.

Black people clearly wanting revenge .

They have it,now the sentence. It will be the maximum . Chauvin will not see his sentence through and the likes of Lisa in London will celebrate his death

Tough innit

And to make matters even worse a drug laden society i.e. individuals high on their own (or others) supply, along with mentally unstable criminals that can never be reasoned with!

Is it any wonder why so many U.S cops use a heavy handed approach and deicide to take no chances and draw their guns for their own self protection at the earliest of opportunities?

Even the most routine of stops involving the (like in video) gentlest and politest of interventions can end up with a cop never returning home.

Firstly Biden didn’t say anything at all until the jury had been sequestered so, by definition, it can have had no impact.

Secondly, of course it was a fair trial. You just think the police should be able to act in any way they choose. However heinous.

Thirdly the only one who was ‘as good as’ lynched was George Floyd.

And it wasn’t ‘black people’ that wanted ‘revenge’. It was all decent people who wanted justice. Not all of us are racists.

And I wouldn’t celebrate his death. I am absolutely against the death penalty (unlike you) and believe a sentence of him rotting in prison for the rest of his scummy life would be ideal.

You just can’t stop mentioning me can you. It really p*sses you off that I make you look so bloody small minded so frequently.

With the president himself commenting in public and the whole country awaiting with baited breath,a not guilty verdict would have been unthinkable.

Should be obvious to all.

Different levels of intent Loh. For him to be found guilty of the most serious, he’s automatically guilty (other than in really strange circumstances) of the lesser offences - it’s a lesser included offence.

What part of the jury was already sequestered do you not understand? Do you know what sequestered means?

And, no I didn’t.

I said ‘rot you utter scumbag’.

Where does that say I want him dead or anything about hell. It quite clearly doesn’t say that does it.

I have a nephew who live in West Palm Beach.
Everyone there knows that when stopped by Police attitude is all. Furthermore, all cops fear somebody reaching for a Saturday Night special from the glovebox which is why you go nowhere near .Whites are stopped as well as blacks in WPB. There are thoudands of black Police Officers serving and they have and will kill people. I repear that a killing of a white person by a black cop would no way resemble what Floyd's death did.Fact.

Living this side of the pond,we are of course clueless as to what isues face American police and this is down their dumbass tradition ,loved by Trump, of gun ownership. Cops face death every day. They screw up and pay the price as this fella will, and pay it he will.

We are seeing massive hypocrisy where people here are after blood ,yet these people preach peach and love and harmony.

We need equality for all.

Floyd was no angel and let's see more sickening eulogies about his loss. This does not take away the fact Chauvin has caused his death which might well have been avoided, although Floyd's physical condition with drugs in system didnt help.

Just who would want to police America. Now, we will see Police Officers being more responsible with prisoners, which is good. There as here they have a duty of care to prisoners, whether they are a simple thug or the paedophile everyone wants to castrate/electrocute or lethally inject.

If you're a criminal ,you should be treated exactly the same, whatever the colour

Dont remember this being world news. What about it lisa from london. ?

Fact is police are fair game, both there and here.
Many crocodile tears are shed over police deaths especially from politicians.

Kill The Bill was displayed recently on banner here. Fkck the Police demos lauded over.

Yet,these people still go out there and do a filthy job that nobody else wants to do and to whom they give no support or respect. They are from the the community at large but in Teresa May's eyes are nothing special.

I truly wished they had the guts as an organisation to go on strike and let us see how us cretin cope without them.

“ This does not take away the fact Chauvin has caused his death which might well have been avoided, although Floyd's physical condition with drugs in system didnt help. ”

He murdered him. Most murders could be avoided if the murderer didn’t, you know, murder the victim.

Stop making excuses, or pretending this was a case of a man being shot by a police officer (of whatever colour). It was a case where a police officer knelt on a man’s neck for over 9 minutes, murdering him, continuing long after he was any threat whatsoever to the police officer (If he ever was). Long after, even, he was unconscious.

Floyd wasn’t a criminal when this happened. He hadn’t been charged, wasn’t found guilty and convicted. He had used a forged twenty dollar bill. The shopkeeper thought without realising. He had done things in the past for which he had served his sentence. Unless I’m mistaken, the most recent of those was some time ago.

The police officer didn’t screw up, he murdered someone.

When out traveller chums killed the Police office down south the derisory sentences should have met with public outrage. Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes killings are long forgotten

Why is that ?
