| Jamie Paterson is still an unresolved issue for Swansea City on 12:54 - Jan 26 with 1254 views | LittleEnglandJack | Out of interest, am I the only one who thinks the club have made a complete pigs ear of this whole debacle? I don't know the ins and outs of it of course but to my mind both Paterson and the club have a case. Surely there was room for a compromise, sorted before this ever became public? Instead we seem to have taken an inflexible position that has given one of our best players the hump. I've said it elsewhere this morning but I think we're already missing him badly (I fancy we might have had the cutting edge to get a winner either last night or v Hudds). I'm not convinced we'll replace him easily either. I'd like to see a resolution that suits all parties that culminates with him playing on Saturday. Sadly, I fear that bridge may already have been burned. | | | |

Couldnt agree with you more Sir Martin was asked twice last night to elaborate but swerved an honest answer with a false smile.None of us really knows what is going on but we are implored to trust him implicitly . We need this sorted one way or another. We have enough talent to squeeze a play off spot BUT we are being held back IMO by this coach. The players Martin requires for his dream ticket are put of our range and Id rather we not be BSted

We don't know the ins and outs but what do know is the club has a good record when it comes to contracts be it offering extensions or honouring the basics for players who are too expensive to play. We also know Paterson has played just 73 league games in 8 1/2 seasons and was unwanted in August 2021 but accepted the contract on offer. I had jobs where I thought I was worth more but I didn't refuse to do them.

That I freely admit. Maybe Paterson has decided he doesn't want to be here, in which case he can show himself the door. But that isn't my understanding. What I do know is that you don't often see clubs selling one of their key players in January (a mere 6 months after signing) simply because of a falling out over a contract extension. That seems ludicrous to me. Surely we could've done a deal to suit all parties? Maybe I'm Naïve. Btw, if I have completely misunderstood this situation, somebody do please feel free to enlighten me.

This is above Martin, aim your ire at Winter and Allan. Not everything is Martin's fault at the club

Swans are letting the clock tick and the ball is in his court. The manager is right to say let’s see where we are after Monday, there’s little more he can do.

Yes Martin gets blamed for lots players having the hump over contracts. He has offered an olive branch to Patterson. Obefami having attitude problems even though he had them when at Southampton. Downes getting sent off last night the same people would be moaning if he was subbed and we lost the game. What was he doing when the Titanic sunk or Hitler ordered the invasion of Poland. Perhaps we can blame him for that as well.

Agree. We will never progress under the present owners.. Martin has made some good calls but he really can improve things further by just accepting the abilities of the players we have ,not those he d like . We can and should get back to the Prem Hudds were sinking fast and now under this manager fully sorted. I believe we are far better than Huddersfield but table doesn’t lie .

The present US owners are doing fine. Some of the Welsh owners are dong fine. Sellers appear to be re investing. The laggard in the group are the 21% Welsh owned fans group who appear to be anti investment. Fans have very low expectations of them. Two people associated with the club have got Championship teams to the Premier league without building up risky debt. Winter and Jenkins. it was not easy and both scrapped in via the play offs. A combined 9 years of PL money was reinvested into each club. Swansea are improving slowly. It is noticeable that possession stats are now being mirrored by other stats like shots on target and off target. Swansea dominated QPR on these parameter but QPR had better quality chances.

Yet Huddersfield could have gone down last season with the same coach in his first season Sometimes it takes a little time to get your methods across

Even if he is still here, he clearly doesn't want to be here the 3 games he's refused to play tells us that, he's clearly not gonna apologise, Martin's smirky look suggests he'll be gone to much water under the bridge now I think.

Totally agree and I posted same earlier. Get it sorted and get Pato back on Saturday doing what he does best, making chances for Piroe

This was taken from the Structured dialogue. [Julian stated that last year ownership invested, via a loan note, around £10-13 million. Jake Silverstein invested half, Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan matched that and some of our other shareholders contributed smaller amounts, into a convertible loan note.} It was initially quoted as £10m 50 :50 split but became up to £13m with added investors from existing shareholder group. This may mean the sellers that remain as minor shareholders. Swansea.com are sponsoring the Stadium which suggests a close working relationship with the club.

All down to him…..according to Sue Gray, that’s why the report is delayed, they’re waiting for the transfer window to shut.
