I suppose I could be picky and say we need to be quicker, play with more pace because we won't play Peterborough every week. What is wrong is when we play the risky passes inside our last third or even in our own penalty area, like Naughton's pass for Peterboroughs goal.

Where is the video of their goals with the same question for balance?

Absolutely. There were balls to Grimes who was looking back all the time even though the Peterborough midfield had given him all the room in the world. He needed to take the ball and drive forward but instinctively looks to pass back which slows things down.

There was one pass played to him today where he was alone in 30 yards of space. He played it straight back.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

I’m not surprised. Maybe that’s why he’s picked every game and retained the captaincy. I may have mentioned, but he’s not captain material.

| Swansea City ‘ What is wrong with this ?’ on 20:50 - Mar 19 with 834 views | Dr_Parnassus | This goalkeeping coach is awful to listen to, he (like Martin) is completely wedded to this idea of playing to these tactics, doesn’t even enter his head the reasons why it fails and has done now for 3 seasons since it’s conception. He is an idealist (again like Martin). He will look at 100% of the game, highlight the 2% where it looked ok and ignore the 98% where it didn’t and use that 2% as justification for it. The reason it only worked 2% of the time doesn’t seem to be of any concern, must be the grass or the bus, or the ref, or no pre season, or winter break, or tiredness… or anything else you can think of. You can cut a clip of a 80 yard shunt coming up with a goal and using it as justification for playing that way, except over 90 mins it won’t tend to. Same goes for this short passing at all costs stuff, the fact we needed injury time to come away with the points against the worst team in the league by a mile, in that very game he’s clipped, says it all. This is not the Swansea way. The Swansea way was intelligent and penetrating possession, this way of playing is not intelligent or penetrating, is flawed from start to finish and completely awful to watch. It’s being implemented by people who don’t understand it, which is why their measure of success simply boils down to “dominance” which is a dressed up word for “did we have more possession Guv?”. | |

| Swansea City ‘ What is wrong with this ?’ on 20:54 - Mar 19 with 824 views | onehunglow | We have decent players messed about by a "coach" having whatever confidence they had dribble away. We know what is wrong. We just have to admit it to ourselves. Patience my arris. We have already been too patient. Every day with Russ is a wasted day. Nothing has improved,no progress,no style,no "way". The acquisiton of Fisher is the greatest evidence one could have of a clown coach. | |

| Swansea City ‘ What is wrong with this ?’ on 21:57 - Mar 19 with 765 views | MrSwerve | I’m going to make a statement now with (in all honesty) no stats to back it up, just from watching pretty much every game this season… Our possession is awful. Yes, really. I don’t mean our absolutely pointless, slow, aimless passes at the back, or Grimes receiving the ball just to pass straight back to a defender, or Fisher tapping it backwards and forwards to a defender. I mean PROPER possession. It feels like as soon as we get towards the halfway line and into the opposition’s half, we absolutely cack ourselves and can barely string two passes together. The players have been conditioned to then pass the ball back to the defenders (rather than take any risks), for the defenders and keeper to fanny around again. In the ‘process’ (ergh), our possession stats increase, Martin’s eyes light up…and on paper we have ‘The Swansea Way’ back. It couldn’t be further from the truth. We are toothless and can’t keep the ball (when it matters) to save our lives. | |

We only "possess" the ball when teams allow us.They allow us to have the ball as they KNOW we do nothing with it. Really. We do not move it at pace not with any width so there is no need for any team to panic. Had not Posh been even worse defensively they would have beaten us. Teams know Fisher is basically a coward and with distribution that is shocking. Pass it from the back !. They know Grimes will trot BACK then shift it back or sideways;by which time the opponents are nicely settled. They know players are selected out of position, the latest being the magnificent Piroe now shunted wide to right midfield even though he is very left footed.Meanwhile Grimes retains the armband when he basically does little of value ;nothing more than normally returning a pass (and enhancing his stats) then either being bundled off the ball or simply getting left for dead . If Russ was replaced NOW,we would see a radically happier, confident ,organised group of players. They must feel crushed.

| Swansea City ‘ What is wrong with this ?’ on 10:28 - Mar 20 with 600 views | Brynmill_Jack | The first 15 or 20 seconds until Grimes to his credit sees the forward pass, players it at a good pace to Paterson who reciprocates to Oba who despite miscontrolling still managed to score. There’s a saying that football is a simple game made complicated by idiots. Case in point | |

Innit. As if passing back and forth between the defence and midfield isn’t taking any risks - the oppo usually seize on a rubbish risky pass and score.
