It is far more likely, given what we know, that Martin had a player who was able to compliment Piroe and score the goals we needed to push up the league table sitting on his substitutes bench for the first half of the season, entirely unnecessarily.
It is most likely that we should have been in a much higher league position if only Martin had figured out how to use the players he had at his disposal much earlier. | |

Though you’re right about what he can contribute, I don’t think Martin didn’t know how to use him. There were other reasons he wasn’t played with maybe discipline and fitness topping those lists.

Obafemi had well documented problems at soton and it looked like he brought them to us, RM didn't play him for a reason, he is giving him starts and he is scoring because his attitude is right.
