We haven’t made any comment on this as we are working on a news report on this guy and his past. It’s easy to jump the gun and speculate but to be honest other matters are more important to this website. Once we have the information we require and are in a position to put together something we will. There are certain things we need to know such as is it an investment, is he covering excess money owed, is he buying in to a percentage of the club or as reported in some places the whole club, which is surely highly unlikely.

As ever we will ensure you get the full context and not just opinion asap.

Judging by that opening comment then, this isn't just journalists making it up. There is something to it it seems.

From what I gather, he is a front man, the talker as such for an arabian group.

If he is interested in Swansea is anyone's guess.

Ironically Huw Jenkins is probably richer than this bloke.

I don't think the company he is involved with has that much financial clout either.

Id prefer we stayed with the Americans.

An Arabian group? Well that begs some questions...

Would our fans be happy to be owned by genuine oil billionaires even if they are from an authoritarian state with poor human rights records?

Why would Arabs be interested in us? They usually go for the big clubs.

The club has dismissed this, if there is genuine interest, are they trying to push the price up?

Lastly, does anybody else think this is BS? BTW, the first question...no, I wouldn't want us owned by that certain kind of people, those who think they can treat women as they like, those who use their money to bad ends, who would behead anybody for disagreeing with the ruling powers.

The only time they’ll confirm anything is if the club has been sold. Now they’ve nobbled the trust (or rather the trust committed nobblicide) the way is free for a takeover without interference. I’m a bit wary - better the devil you know etc etc

From the interview and the tiny amounts of info I took it to be his diamond and precious metals company is based in Dubai with his home in Switzerland. I don’t think it is an Arab concern Alarm bells) so his personal wealth likely to be significantly more than suggested here.
It isn’t often that someone's bio is so sparse.
There again Globo Esporte is a reputable channel!

Plus if there’s any way of getting the money they “invested” or rather bought the club with returned they’ll sell without hesitation

I don't really care who owns the club as long as they do their best to run it on a sustainable basis within its own income.

At the moment Kaplan and Co are doing that. I would rather the situation continue than some chancer come in promising the Earth and leaving us in the shite a few years later.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

We do, but that won't stop thickies demanding "Billionaires" to come in and spend us into oblivion. As if Billionaire ownership was a guarantee of anything. Just ask Stoke or Barnsley.

It can be a guarantee if the billionaire is genuine, ask Chelsea, Man City or Liverpool. The chances of landing that type though, they're rarer than rocking horse poo!

Being sustainable is our only choice if we want to guarantee having a team to follow that hasn't plummeted back to the depths.

I’ve never understood the desire for a billionaire owner willing to spend hundreds of millions on players.

You are essentially just cheating your way to victory. It would give me no satisfaction whatsoever. I would say nothing could kill my love for the club quicker than being a billionaires play thing.

The club would only be Swansea City in name and stadium. It would have absolutely no connection to the club I knew other than that, any essence of what the club was would have been washed away by cash and possibly never to return.

Zero interest in it.

I’d rather be in league 2 knowing any success we do achieve is down to the club itself than be playing champions league football solely because of one persons money.

Not that this guy has the means to be anything remotely like that of course.

I don't think for one minute this guy is the one to lead us to the promised land and beyond.
However I would rather be competing with Barcelona than Bradford if someone came in with the funds to do it.
That said we have already beaten the team that is bigger bigger than Barcelona twice this season

I’d prefer to organically compete with them, but not to just buy our way there with someone else’s money. I think I would hate it, would probably stop me supporting the club and would just have a passing interest.

Still the best times I have had supporting the Swans was in the lower divisions. First two seasons of the Premier League were excellent then it got a bit monotonous.

I could have anyone’s framed jersey on my wall from the heady days of the Premier League, but instead I have Steve Torpey’s - actually it’s still not framed but the space is there for when I get round to it. Reminds me of the good old days.

The journey there was certainly far more exciting than the prize for me. Having the prize handed to us and have no feeling of earning our place wouldn’t give me any satisfaction whatsoever.
