Any Better Odds Than 20/1 ? 20:01 - May 30 with 841 viewsSTID2017

Paddy Power currently offering 20/1 on Swans getting automatic promotion.
Seems quite low to me, especially given no one knows who we will sell, release or sign ( and obviously the same with the opposition).
Anyone know of any others offering better odds ?

That doesn’t sound like automatic promotion odds, that sounds like league winner odds.

I’d be checking that market again if I were you.

Most bookies have us 8th-10th favourite for the title as it stands. 20/1 is probably top price at retail, you may be able to get 28/1 or something on the exchange.

More realistically, what are the odds of Martin attaining a top half finish with us ever, no matter how much more Wunter is going to bend for ?

And what are the odds of us being relegated under Martinfraudball, the perennial underachiever ? And dropping.

Thankfully I don’t see us getting relegated, you have to be really terrible to be relegated in this league. Peterborough type terrible or huge financial crisis type terrible.

But I don’t see any way we will get promoted either.

It’s likely going to be another disappointing year of mid table mediocrity and under performance.

We will win a couple and some fans will say how wonderful he is, we will lose even more and others will note generally how poor we are. Not the most exciting of immediate futures under Martin sadly, entirely predictable dross is how I would describe it as.

I certainly wouldn’t be backing 20/1 and would personally offer 25/1 for anyone looking for a better price.

DoctorBet, best prices in town.

11/2?

Do the bookies know something about players we are getting in that we don't?

Well i don't know about you but I won't be wasting my money.

I honestly can't see the board backing RM no matter how much we get in if we sell.

But no matter what I will still be supporting the team no matter who is in charge 😉

There was a lot of positivity shown to us in the British media by pundits towards the end of last season, such as Martin is building something at Swansea and next season will reap the benefits. The only thing I can think is the bookies took notice of that. 11/2 are ridiculous odds and totally unrealistic.

Not many clubs write off a whole season in order to challenge the next season.

That was the narrative we had for the last 6 months.

You aren’t meaning to tell me we did that just to have more of the same next season… are you?

I think that was clear from watching games on sky and the quest, a lot of pundits were impressed with what was being built here.
11/2 are ridiculous odds so soon after the seasons end, realistically there is a lot of things over the next 2 months that can change the realistic outlook for next season.

Its clear that pundits and especially the odds given for next season indicate that people were taking notice of what is being implemented at the club.

I always like to be realistic and I think a solid mid table finish would certainly be a right step for us BUT as I say, things could change quite quickly so I wouldn't take much notice of those odds at this stage.

As the season approaches you can’t help but sense people have developed cold feet. All the bravery drained out of people like a waterlogged ‘vetchfield’ after a good pitchfork session.

All this talk last season and it turns out that it was all for nothing. A consolidation season leading to more consolidation seasons. What joy.

I think everyone has now realised exactly what many of us were saying all along.

These backtracking and ice cold zero expectation statements are as close to people holding their hands up as we will be getting. We all see what’s happening here.

I said we should do a sweepstake when people would try and drip feed this new narrative, it’s started even quicker than I initially thought.

There’s no way I’m putting any money on any RM side - they were thrashed twice by Forest and well beaten on many other occasions. Even when we managed to get ourselves a shot at the playoffs the performance level fell through the floor.
