What really is his problem ? 13th Sep 2022 09:00If the words of Swansea City manager Russell Martin are to be compared with his press conferences of old then it seems likely Michael Obafemi will miss tonights game against Sheffield United. It’s quite clear the deadline day dealings with Burnley were not to his liking, and he wanted to leave Swansea City, and now his reaction is as we have seen before. 1 If you want to remove this post from the board index, just click the hide post icon below. Marmite is good for you. Im not sure Obafemi is good for our club Not in the what?Right frame of mind? What absolute mealy mouthed bilge. It's called sulking. Why did we take him on? It seemed to take a while to get him "in the right frame of mind" now he's out of mind again. So what exactly is Mikey doing this morning then.Instead of playing football,he's doing what? Is he refusing to play? Like Pato the Petulant?Fine him . I think Martin is dead right here and frankly,we are lumbered with him until January. [Post edited 13 Sep 2022 9:49]

Brian Flynn and Leighton James liked it there. You never traversed across the magnificent moorland that is virtually on the doorstep there. Some magnificent ,open ,unspoiled land there with space to breathe.

| Michael Obafemi ! What really is his problem ? on 10:05 - Sep 13 with 1904 views | jack247 | Without knowing what’s going on in his life, it comes across as a very childish reaction. Much harder to attract bigger clubs if they think you’re going to be a problem child. It’s pretty much accepted that Piroe would have been amenable to a PL or possibly Watford/Burnley type move, but he’s just got his head down, made the most of the chance to play in his favoured position and banged some goals in. A much better way to engineer a move in the next window. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| Michael Obafemi ! What really is his problem ? on 10:47 - Sep 13 with 1836 views | EagleEye | The problem with this type of behaviour is that it can quickly become contagious through the squad. We just have to hope that RM & co can handle this appropriately. If this behaviour become prevalent every time a player doesn’t get what he wants or gets dropped then the whole mantra of the ‘process’ & the ‘group’ will fall apart. It is easy to see how others who have been dropped could follow the same patterns of behaviour if not handled properly. Who is next Ntcham, Darling, Cabango, Fisher, Wood, Ogbeta etc ? | | | |

The other problems include missing one yard tap ins and trapping a ball further than most people can kick it.

| Michael Obafemi ! What really is his problem ? on 10:55 - Sep 13 with 1818 views | jojaca | We dealt with this the best way, give him the break he wants, but he will have to fight to get into the starting eleven again. The last couple of games we looked better with Piroe as striker, so it's kind of worked out and so it doesn't look good on him if we start picking up results without him. If he doesn't play his stock falls added with his throw out his toys attitude, he's probably doing his career more harm than good career wise. [Post edited 13 Sep 2022 10:56]

The manager did say he didn’t want to play against QPR ?

| Michael Obafemi ! What really is his problem ? on 11:14 - Sep 13 with 1761 views | Dr_Winston | Did he say that directly or was it something like "Not in the right frame of mind"? One of which could be Martin's interpretation rather than Obafemi's refusal. I'm not saying he is or he isn't, but I'm wary of rushing to judgement based on incomplete data. All we had in the first half of last season was mumblings about "unprofessionalism" yet whenever Oba actually got rare minutes on the pitch he looked fit, motivated and willing to work hard for the team. We've seen on too many occasions already how players who don't, for whatever reasons, meet RM's "ideal" and get frozen out of proceedings. | |

If Oba is saying he wont play the guys a complete idiot, if Martin is dropping him when he wants to be involved then Martin is......? We have seen players frozen out before, it may seem to some that if your face doesn't fit then it's the naughty step for you. Maybe Cullens face fits and that's why he gets chances his ability hasn't earned?

| Michael Obafemi ! What really is his problem ? on 11:54 - Sep 13 with 1701 views | dantheswansman | If the player is acting like a childish little man child then the manager has every right to sideline him, Michael is well known to be prone to throwing strops and acting immature, Martin should keep him out until he can grow up | | | |
| Michael Obafemi ! What really is his problem ? on 11:56 - Sep 13 with 1698 views | STID2017 | Thing that baffles me is that if he was in with a chance of playing for a decent PL side and didn't get the transfer fair enough. However we are talking about Burnley who are in the same division as us and there is no guarantee they will get promoted any time soon ? The lad needs to knuckle down, do what he does best and hopefully by doing that earn a move to the PL in January or the summer | |

They probably offered him a contract with more money and a guaranteed minimum wage if they got promoted. Football is all about money.

He also had a problem with the food laid on for the players, refusing to follow diets, opting for a McDonald's, he brought the same issues to Fairwood, maybe its a clown thing.

In that case Martin is justified in ripping him apart and I hope he does. We have little strikers as back up so hoping Martin forge one from the new incoming loans
