We are regressing back in time.

So many strides made for women to not be disadvantaged by their physical traits. Hence why we have men and women’s sports etc

Now with this trans and gender fluid movement taking over the world they are slowly diminishing women.

Women now have to be referred to as “birthing people”, scholarships taken away in place of men now identifying as something else, their safe and private spaces now being open to everyone and their identity slowly eroding as people try and politically push for a gender neutral future.

We are going back in time with a lot of these subjects and ironically as people cite progression, as people will look back on in decades time - it’s regression. Those who support it I hope will be embarrassed by the part they played in it.

Is modern pop music about talent? Everything is run through a computer, everything is adjusted to sound better. it's not talent a lot of the time, it's technology. I'll take this....

All attributes count though, not just physical.

Men and women are different in almost every way as much as people don’t like to admit it.

If men and women were allowed their free choices, women would make up most of the jobs in the care work sector, teachers, psychologists, psychiatrists etc as women have an innate propensity to nurture. They have a greater interest in people rather than ‘things’.

Men would take up most of the labour, engineering and high level business due to masculine behavioural traits being proven to be beneficial in that sector. Men have a greater interest in ‘things’ over people.

This filters it’s way down to everything, even music. People write about life experiences and interests in the main, and people tend to find men’s interests more alluring.

53% of music is bought by women yet 80% of the music bought, is sang by a man. There is just more interest from both men and women in male voices. Women control the lions share of the music purchases yet this is still the case.

In order for women to be represented, there needs to be separate categories. Otherwise women will struggle to have the same amount of role models men do as interest in their music is 20% of that of the whole industry.

Unfortunately when people are on their quest for virtue and to sound like they are saying the right thing - they often don’t think of the realities of the outcome, which is often the opposite outcome of what they wish to promote.

I'd agree. Whatever anyone may say any area where physical size and strength aren't a deciding factor then women can easiy compete with men. Singing, acting, writing, in business.
There are obviously areas where the competition wouldn't be fair so we just have to use common sense.

The problem I have with this is that the gender neutrality thing comes purely because there are (I think two at present) artists who are non binary so wouldn't want to be considered for a male or female award.

I have no problem with a transgender man winning a male award and a transgender woman winning a female award. In the case of music at least.

This doesn't do the lgbtq+ community any favours.

Some of the finest barrister and judges I have worked with over the past 20 years are women. When both of my parents were in hospital some of he kindest nurses were men.

As you say moved on from the days when women's roles were defined as chained to the kitchen sink orcas secretaries, while men went off to do "the real work" as some would have it.
Nowadays men and women often choose careers based not on their gender, but on the role they feel they will enjoy.
As you say, lots of men work in nursing and other roles in the caring profession, whilst lots of women have taken up trades such as mechanics, bricklayers or other roles previously thought of as being for men.

And neither should she or anyone else.
There is male female and possibly a hermaphrodite (Not even sure if that can be called a gender in its own right) There is NO other gender.

I challenge anyone to prove me wrong

I had never heard of “person/player of the match” either prior to this.

As I said, these things are drip fed. Tell her to have one in two years time, come back to me then. By then the removing of gendered language will be common place.

Plenty more if you need them.

Absolutely, but again when they are given free choices men and women “generally” choose different things, because their genetic make up is different.

I’m not saying a man cannot be a teacher or a nurse and I’m not saying a woman can’t be a high powered business person, so not sure where you are coming from with that.

To put this to a more understandable example then;

Men and women can both be violent and aggressive, we can agree there?

But if you take a group of 10,000 people at random, the most aggressive among that group will pretty much always be a male, that’s the overwhelming likelihood. This is why men dominate the prison system.

This is also why most CEO’s of high powered businesses are generally men. It takes an extreme person with incredible dedication and obsessiveness to be a CEO who is happy to dedicate their life above family to essentially just “things”.

At the extremes within a cross section of society is where these people are found, and at the extremes the traits needed to be a high powered CEO will usually be men because their biological traits align with that far more than a female does - there are exceptions and that’s when females become CEO’s.

So you extrapolate that out to more general interests… Take 10,000 people who will excel in architecture, almost always the best architect among that group will be male (because males have more interests in “things” rather than people), again there are exceptions of course and that’s when you get female architects - but that’s why men are dominating in certain field and women are dominating in others.

So it has nothing to do with “being in the 1960’s” or people “putting up barriers” as you seem to be suggesting, its a simple scientific and behavioural fact, a trend so clear it cannot be denied and it has been studied and tested extensively.

Not everything has to be due to an “ism”.

Biology and human nature.

Males and females are different, have different interests and choose different things. “Generally”.

Anyway, back to the point in hand with the above being understood to be scientifically and biologically proven…

Women make up 53% of music consumers yet 80% of the artists are male. The market is driven by consumers (mostly females) so there is no sexism involved, it’s simply choice.

So if there are 400% more males in music than women (again driven by the market, not by design) then it makes perfect sense to separate the genders so women can have just as many award winners as men and have the same amount of coverage and role models.

I don’t know what’s the least bit controversial about that; it’s common sense.

By de-gendering it, all you are doing is ensuring less recognition for females in the industry - which appears to be the opposite of what most people would want, and no doubt the uneducated would then put that down to “men” or the “patriarchy” or whatever nonsense they come up with to explain away basic things.

This is why I say it is regression not progression. If we want to continue to recognise women then we should stop this de-gendering obsession.

If its about free choices then what makes you think most women are not choosing what they want?

In my company now they have two female apprentice plasterers, at a team training session recently they were both asked how come and both were very clear, they both had been waiting for the opportunity to do something different, something outside the normal gender defined roles and they both said they were really enjoying the jobs.

Freedom of choice means accepting that women can do any job they choose, or you could subscribe to Jordan Peterson's view of the world.
