If what I have read is true then they spent over 10 million arguing the case so all in all they have wasted around 15 million. What a totally senseless and stupid thing. Well they'll get the embargo lifted but can they now afford to sign anyone?

Throw in the interest to Tan, how can they meet the spending rules and not get a points deduction.

Well let’s hope that the ban takes a while to be lifted. Took them long enough to pay.

Nothing crazy about it. Cardiff did nothing wrong. They bought a player through a registered agent who lost their player in the bay of Biscay. Cardiff have every right to be upset if they have to carry the full can for this. Cardiff should go after the agent and FIFA or whoever registered the agent and probably have already done so. I expect a good old fashioned Anglo French entente cordiale.

He will, mackay arranged the flight on a dodgy plane with a bloke not licenced to fly people, once his link to Nantes is proven, that will start the next legals….it’s never going to end.

Obviously you weren't invited to the 3 official court hearings which have repeated stated that they had despite their many protestations they actually owe money to Nantes .So yes they did do something wrong, they bought a player but failed to pay for him

Not a hit at Cardiff City and this did he / did not sign the contract before boarding that death trap , Salas own words I believe . Why is the finger of blame not being pointed at the carrier and their insurance clauses . Think this fatal incident really should have closure by way of how did it happen .

paid for him eventually, long overdue and only because they lost 3 court cases and were duly punished for their crime. If the agent was working for nantes, officially, surely that will already have been proven, or maybe he wasn't? If Cardiff could prove it I'm sure they'd have brough it up in the 3 court appearanaces. You crack on with your fantasy though, you are going back on ignore before I get into trouble.

The link, if it exists, will never be proven now because by paying up they have accepted they were wrong. Maybe Tanand Dalman still think they've been mugged but they had to be pragmatic in the end I guess because 3 windows with no new players and given the state you lot are in, it wouldn't end well. Are you worried about FFP? Aren't you in debt over and above FFP allowances with Tan still putting money in?

Didn’t McKay have links with Cardiff though? Given his two sons were inexplicably given two and a half year contracts despite barely being good enough to play in the Scottish eighth division.

Not that big a difference surely??? And unless I’ve missed something, let’s not forget they’ve only paid the first instalment not the full amount so. They’re still in debt to Nantes.

You have been taught the finer details of this case many times, why you still keep getting them wrong I’m not quite sure. Cardiff did do things wrong, in fact their main argument was that he wasn’t registered to play in the Premier league… which was due to a technical error caused by them in structuring his bonus incorrectly. The “agent” (who’s sons played for Cardiff due to their ongoing relations) perfectly legally booked a flight, it’s not illegal to book a flight.. so they didn’t lose anybody. Next time Cardiff sign a player for so much they may take greater care of transporting him rather than giving an inconvenient commercial flight hours away from where he is. Wrong bloke. Mark McKay was the agent (until the deal was complete, which it was already). He doesn’t continue to be the agent forever, it’s a contract which is completed when the transfer is done - which has since been proven to be done. Willie is McKay booked the flight, he didn’t have an agents license at the time so can’t have been employed by them and clearly stated in the texts that it was as “a personal favour”, nothing to do with Nantes. Why would Nantes have to transport another clubs player? If you leave your employers to go and work elsewhere, they don’t have to take you to your new place of work. The only time I’ve ever heard that suggested was to do with this case - bizarre. But back to Willie - his other sons played for Cardiff due to deals he made with Warnock, they are now plying their trade in the back of beyond, they were never good enough for anything better. Very strange arrangements which I’m sure Cardiff won’t want looked at too closely. [Post edited 11 Jan 2023 13:19]

It wasn’t a perfectly legal flight though was it? Far from it…..and mackay was behind it and he’s a banned agent. As for the inconvenient flight, what 3 hrs away in Paris with BA? I know which one I’d take as soon as I saw that plane

You nailed it dr p as ever, why would mackay who everyone knows was employed by Nantes before and only got his sons involved in name as a cover story to continue working, bother to get involved ? Because he was involved in booking that illegal flight, a flight that wasn’t worthy and killed two people. And there lies the connection to Nantes fc. It’s tenuous I grant you but people are sued for far less links these days….good day to you
