And I mean since Silver Shield handed on the BS script to Mike Lewis which ended in the Tony Petty saga before a generation of calm descended on the Swans. We now have a shareholder and decision maker standing in a self imposed corner with little back up to help. 1 GOTCHA ! Click above.

Put another way, he's a "political strategist" and as we see all the time, he exists in a world where he believes what he wants to, he thinks what he says is true and he thinks despite what other people say that we are not clever enough to really see what he is. What it really boils down to is we don't have the power to stop him, not unless we are willing to damage OUR club. As it goes we won't be in our seats today, my son is ill he's not going so neither am I.

Personally I don't feel comfortable making that leap, particularly given that our current manager has proved to be an 'unreliable narrator' in the past. I did enjoy the trip down Memory Lane, though. Overall, a very enjoyable read.

I know I keep harping on about it but the only thing the likes of the Americans understand is revenue. Remember Liverpool fans walking out in protest at increased season ticket prices in front of TV cameras? It got the result the fans wanted and a wake up call to the owners. A stadium full of fans singing get out of our club won’t cut it with Jason.

I refuse to use the word lying. But the political football he is playing with most certainly was somewhat deflated. This is what happens when you are scrutinised to the extent clubs like the Swans are. Tune in to Radio Wales from 5.30pm this evening ðŸ‘

Well again, I come back to the question 'cui bono'? What did Levien have to gain by giving that interview, with Silverstein by his side, when he could have hidden in the pack/done a HJ and put his phone in a drawer until it all blows over? (My guess - he had wind that Martin, Marsh and Winter were going to blame him and so he got his retaliation in first.) And why go hard on blaming Winter when he could have thrown chaff around and suggested (eg) that each deal folded for its own unique reason and blame is shared equally? Martin, of course, had no choice in giving that news conference and knew he'd be asked who was to blame for the debacle. Hats off to him for not ducking the question even if I don't wholly believe the answer he gave.

Or get ignored or sacked on the spot. You piss off the men holding the purse strings who pay your wages at your peril unless you are prepared to go all the way. It would appear that the owners have written off this season. I don't think they are billionaires who can just keep plowing money in to the club with no returns. Be careful what you wish for.
| Jason Levien paints himself in to a political corner over new contracts on 12:57 - Feb 4 with 903 views | cadleigh | A former Supporters Trust chair has poured cold water on Martin’s claim of a rift between Levien and Silverstein/Kaplan, arguing that it’s not the man, it’s the system and governance (or lack of it). What we saw last month was no different from previous windows, just magnified. Not saying this is any more reliable than Levien and Martin’s accounts, just sharing for balance. | |

Spot on A-F-D. Silvertein threw in the A word did you notice? I got a cold shiver down my back. Most fans say move them with no buyers. Madness. Fans wanted to take £10m off these guys give £10m to third party legal people and put £10m in a zero interest account with inflation at 12% or so. Annual real term loss £12k an month. None of the 1000 members have ever asked them how they can invest. The owners probably look art Martin and think his is a far too nice a bloke. He need a bit of fire in his belly. Patterson needs to be motivated. Silverstrein is wondering why he is paying £10 k of his money to Patterson. We discovered Martin does not talk to Levien too often. Manning is leaving Swansea city. No need to talk to him anymore. If he want to talk Winter's office is always open. He is at risk of an ACL and unemployment. [Post edited 4 Feb 2023 13:07]

Manning will be offered a new contract soon, and it will be better than the last offer.

Well yes, it’s this absolutely. He I’ll be totally oblivious to everything except what he has said and as you say, firmly believe in what he’s said. We can’t do anything but support the team on th3 day and hope they leave. But to quote someone else on this thread, be carful what you wish for!

These guys will in my opinion not let the club go bust. They are more likely to trim it down to the minimum like Rotherham and simply only spend what come in through the door. In that case the club would settle in league 1 and rely on the academy players and free transfers. All new player are funded by Silverstein and Levien group it seems. Marin has to use the player in the building. The club cannot have players looking for pay offs.

So why couldn’t they just be truthful about it ?

Silverstein stated he had put 16 million in if they were to leave, cannot see a rush of buyers to replace can you. Yes they have not spent money we don't have but the club is in a healthy position financially. It's crazy asking them to leave with nobody waiting to come in we need to be realistic. And put the toys back in the pram. [Post edited 4 Feb 2023 14:22]

I agree that shouting for them to leave is ridiculous, but at games especially people do so without any clues as to what happens next. The current owners are managing the club fairly reasonably. However, the point remains their transparency after this past weeks shambles.
