| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

| Russell Martin memories thread on 21:11 - May 19 with 2711 views | onehunglow | I read that he was not going anywhere ,which shows you never can tell. The most divisive, disingenuous ,and cunning coach we have had. He will leave pausing the fans,City and the stadium cat whilst being coy about the owners Someone else will have to make us a proper club now. That was the moment he should have been fired We move on and unite and end this schism in the fan base We have saiid some terrible things to each other and his influence ,to me, has been toxic. No other coach has been like this . Time to gather stones together | |

| Russell Martin memories thread on 21:41 - May 19 with 2671 views | jacksfullaces | he has clearly lived rent free in a couple of fans head, the rest of us probably shrug and see if the next one can continue to work with us in the upper mid table zone with little chance of promotion and the odd bad run. that is probably where we are with always a risk of a bad season. won't stop those on the margins taking it all a bit too personally or seriously. | | | |
| Russell Martin memories thread on 21:49 - May 19 with 2649 views | ReslovenSwan1 | I am surprised four season of mediocrity with wins equalling loses gets you a plum job these days. They are going to demand immediate results. He won’t be given any extended period of time to put “the process” in place while they sit in mid table conceding stupid goals from their own goal kicks and losing four nil at home. | |

It will be interesting to see how it goes particularly when financially backed. If he fails it will it will show the board were correct with their decisions, if he succeeds well..............

Or his supporters will claim that selling James Ward Prowse means he wasn't backed enough and so can't be blamed for his system not yielding results. Russell cannot fail, only be failed. If he succeeds then obviously Southampton have a top quality squad so getting them promoted using a system that demands top quality players isn't a big deal, let's see how he gets on in the PL...

He will not have Fish in goals though. Sadly, because of him,we will. Right up there with our worst ever buys

| Russell Martin memories thread on 09:52 - May 20 with 2118 views | Dr_Winston | It'll be interesting to see if our final run of results is evidence that he's finally learning or if he reverts back to "The Process" somewhere else. It would be quite ironic if, after two years of serving up mostly shit here, another team benefits from that. | |

He dumped this poor bugger on to us. I feel for Fish. He really should not play in goal. If he was instructed to avoid short stupid sideways passes to his full backs and coached not to kick it out of play when the short passing failed he might have been more comfortable . Our priority is to replace him. Without doing that, we go nowhere . He is that bad .

He has sold his process to Southampton same as he did with us. Personally not bothered either way. But it was obvious from the start that he would not budge on his style of play. Was happy to use us as a learning curve to get a better job for himself. And if that meant losing too many games so be it was his view. What we really need is a manager who wants to achieve something now for us and not just jog along and improve his career prospects at our expense. [Post edited 20 May 2023 10:51]

I get it that managers wan't to go up the ladder. But winning should always be the priority Russ never had that mentality that cost us. [Post edited 20 May 2023 11:01]

Apparently we had a top quality squad that should have been top six, If he goes to Southampton and achieves promotion he will have done well, because apparently the championship will be a lot tougher next season. People can't have it both ways. Personally I'm just waiting to see how he does, whatever happens some will have egg on their face.

Our squad was capable of better than we saw for over half a season. The Championship was largely poor this last season. Southampton have a better squad depending on who they hold on to and they will have more money. They should do better than us regardless and they will be favourites (well one of the top three) for promotion. As such Martin should do OK there, real pressure will be on him because if he fails there then there will plenty here with egg on their face.

a handful of largely anonymous fans proved right or wrong by the possible future fortunes of a football manager who may or may not succeed due to many of the odd variables of football. I wouldn't be spending too much time worrying about it, at this rate we will have the same 10 fans arguing their position against our last 4 or 5 managers when they are about six clubs removed from when they left us. Wait a minute, I think that might be happening already. hope we find someone who can get us the extra 7 or 8 points we need for next year.
