Was always the first to be taken off despite playing no worse than any others which led people to jump on the unfit bandwagon

100% this. By some distance the most technically capable midfielder we've got and someone who consistently makes things happen on the pitch (as opposed to Grimes). Sadly I suspect his contract situation and the wage he's on makes a departure likely if an offer in the mid seven figures is forthcoming.

Yup, until he came to Swansea the other clubs he played for were in the top flight of their respective leagues.

| Swansea midfielder on his way out ? on 08:29 - Jul 5 with 2886 views | sw02sea | Can’t see how he fits into Duff’s high energy press, as good a player that he can be at times. I do agree he would be a perfect fit if we did somehow climb back to The Prem next season. I’d love to know his feelings on MD’s fitness routines. | | | |

I’ve said in here before but for me he had his best games coming off the bench later in games. When he started games he just wasn’t as effective. It’s one if the things I actually agreed with Martin on. Maybe it was a fitness thing and Martin knew how much he could give?

We can't have 11 players as the piano carriers we need one or two piano players in there

Good point, the problem is he wage demands, we can get 2 decent championship players for what he is on, the club will force him out which is a shame as on his day he's one of the most creative players in the championship. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| Swansea midfielder on his way out ? on 09:05 - Jul 5 with 2761 views | nantywatcher | A joy to watch when he's on his game, but much too much of a liability overall . The amount of possession he loses through lack of concentration or whatever is ridiculous. A "highlights" player people on here seem to like, if results were not that important this season then keep him because we undoubtedly would see some cracking goals. | | | |
| Swansea midfielder on his way out ? on 10:18 - Jul 5 with 2624 views | Badlands | A massive loss if he goes. The only midfielder who could successfully and speedily link defence with attack. WD40 compared with Grimesy gunko. | |

As we’ve said elsewhere mate, I think he will get a contract offer but it won’t appeal to him and be the deciding factor in him leaving.

| Swansea midfielder on his way out ? on 11:26 - Jul 5 with 2507 views | Badlands | Reportedly .. Who is the highest-paid Swansea City Player? The highest-paid player at Swansea City is Olivier Ntcham currently — among the revealed salaries. He earns a substantial wage of £27,115 per week. Can you see him being offered more elsewhere? But that wage is probably an incentive to move him on. | |

That total wage includes the signing on fee as he was a free, spread over the 3 years of his contract. His net salary excluding the signing on is far less and is the starting point for our discussions, which allegedly he is not prepared to negotiate down to for a new contract. So last year of his contract and high wages it is sensible to let him go and get in someone else in or use the talented youngsters we have waiting in the wings.

Do you? When he is on the pitch he's our most creative player by a mile. His problem is he can't play 90 minutes.
| Swansea midfielder on his way out ? on 13:09 - Jul 5 with 2291 views | RichardO | Maybe when given a start it is in an incorrect position, from the bench have seen him be just as ineffectual until more substitutions made and he ends up in a correct position for himself and the team around him to show his qualities.. His first season he ended up playing just behind Piroe on the middle right and had no-one making runs off them not giving them options on the ball nor creating that extra space for them both. | | | |
| Swansea midfielder on his way out ? on 13:16 - Jul 5 with 2259 views | ReslovenSwan1 | A transfer fee would be great. £1m in wages and say £2-3m fee is big cut in the deficit of £12m a year. On those wages he needed to b have a much bigger influence on results. | |

He can play 90 minutes, he just rarely did because he was one of Russy's pre-planned substitutions. He was regularly hauled off at around the hour mark no matter how he was playing.

Well he looked fooked after 60 mins when starting most games. He looked better obviously when he came on in the right position after 60 mins when other teams tired.
| Swansea midfielder on his way out ? on 16:30 - Jul 5 with 2033 views | Kilkennyjack | I always enjoyed watching him play. A class above on his day. If the weekly wage quoted above is correct then he has to go. Unbelievable for our club. | |

'Creative?' You'll have to explain to me what you mean by creative - I'm blowed if I can recall him of having much of a creative impact on a game. He's great with the ball at his feet, but he's not exactly a team player. Lovely player to watch but creative? Surely not.

Maybe the way he "creates " space to take a shot which seems to find the back of the net , not sure what percentage of his shots are on target but my failing memory seems to think its a good ratio for rather than against
