| Swansea midfielder on his way out ? on 20:18 - Jul 5 by Boundy | Maybe the way he "creates " space to take a shot which seems to find the back of the net , not sure what percentage of his shots are on target but my failing memory seems to think its a good ratio for rather than against |
Or the way he consistently and accurately spreads the ball wide when the opportunity arises. Rare under Russy, but for some reason people don't seem to think that this would suit a Duff side.

As others have posted he is our best technical player, has vision of where the ball should be played ( easy to see from the stands much more difficult at pitch level ad to execute ) so when a misplaced ? pass is given more often than not it's the receiving player who misread the pass, imo I believe he would slot into any of our previous teams ,its the manager job to utilise the best of a player and sometimes that wasn't the case under Martin

| Swansea midfielder on his way out ? on 16:34 - Jul 5 by nantywatcher | 'Creative?' You'll have to explain to me what you mean by creative - I'm blowed if I can recall him of having much of a creative impact on a game. He's great with the ball at his feet, but he's not exactly a team player. Lovely player to watch but creative? Surely not. |
Well it's not just me who thinks he's creative eh 😉

Quite alot actually. When he plays the intensity of getting the ball going forward goes up.
| Swansea midfielder on his way out ? on 12:14 - Jul 6 with 1207 views | Dr_Winston | Precisely. He is the one midfielder we've got who can drive the ball through the middle. None of the others are as strong as he is in the centre of the park. | |

Yes a very underrated player. If Duff could imorove his fitness levels we would have a very taĺented player indeed. I would not be surprised to see the likes of Luton or Sheff Utd come in for him.

crazy how underated he is, much in the same way De Guzman was. Always baffled me the abuse he got when he was here despite being one of the most gifted players to ever play for the Swans

I would think Duff is definitely trying to improve on the athleticism of our squad, one area completely negleted by Martin. But as with most sides it will be a balance, those that cover and defend and those who get more freedom. Im hoping Duff will set us up with some pace to threaten in behind and some real width, something i think would suit Ntcham having players around him in those areas.

As you say, De Guzman is possibly the most bafflingly underrated player we've had in decades. It's almost beyond belief that a player directly involved in 10-15 goals a season and indirectly involved in more can be so heavily criticised by some. Then again I've always had a natural fondness for a barnstorming central midfielder, going back to Coughlin, Matthew Rush, and going forward via Pratley, De Guzman, Leroy Fer and now Ntcham. A good one of those can make a team tick and be the difference between a dull side to watch and one that can get you on your feet consistently.

he always had a label of flat track bully - which i found mental considering most of our games were against teams outside of the top 6/7 so he shone in majority of our games

De Guzman was a rolls royce of a player, he was part of taking us to a new level.

Yeah there was that and while he was an obviousy highly talented footballer, I always felt he was playing for himself more than the team. That Wembley spat with Dyer, that was selfish. The game was won, we were 3 up and cruising.

I think you should add Pablo Hernandez to that elite list of undervalued players , on his day unplayable

Now you’re talking and on his day Ki had a run of games where he was scoring and just glided in to position. He was absolute quality and another great Huw Jenkins signing 😉

If Ki had balls he would have been a half decent player.

The club thinking Ki was any kind of replacement/upgrade for DeGuzman was a sign that things were starting to go wrong.

Definitely. | | | |
| Swansea midfielder on his way out ? on 21:12 - Jul 6 with 685 views | Dr_Winston | Hernandez didn't miss as many games as a lot of people seem to think. Problem was it took him three or four games to get up to speed, he'd play like a demon and then take a knock. then the process would start again. On his day he was absolutely unplayable tho. | |

| Swansea midfielder on his way out ? on 23:03 - Jul 6 with 609 views | GVJack | Hope he stays, if not and we receive a decent fee and free up a good chunk of wages I hope the board revisit offering Piroe a fresh contract. Give him a bumper pay rise, 3 year deal with a minimum fee release clause to kick in from next year (£14-20m) That way we get to keep him for a minimum of another 12 months and likely to be able to profit in 12/24 months time. Not sure if he'd be interested, but maybe he can be swayed by the fact that (a) it doesn't appear that there are a number of Premier League clubs lining up at the moment and (b) he'll be guaranteed game time with us to continue to develop. He's still young so time is on his side. I can live in hope!!! | | | |
