Looks like I now pay a charge for local policing per annum , never seen a bobby on the beat in my area ever , Special Constables do pop up every now and again , what can they do . Questions must be asked over the purse holders in these organisations doing the right thing and awarding sevice contracts to reliable tenders too . No - these are 100 per cent English councils. Starved of money as Johnson prioritised his economy damaging Tory Brexit and his methof of choice for getting public cash to his Tory mates, the covid VIP lane for PPE. If some of that money helped Birmingham then who knows…? Very sad.

Not one party or politician represents me . A bunch of bloody self obsessed incompetent charlatans the lot of them. I am quite a fair person and have absolutely equal contempt for them all. How anybody can go knocking doors and asking for their support is beyond me. Think I would prefer to listen to those total dreamers the Jehovah Witness's. [Post edited 6 Sep 2023 18:46]

No. A debt taken out in your name but without your consent does not stand up in International law. Russia tried this with Estonia and lost. Next ?

You’ve paid that for years, it’s a separate entry on your Community Tax bill. In terms of seeing a Bobby on the beat, I don’t think we’ll see that again in my time. Between 2010 and around 2021 there was a huge decrease in police numbers, increased legislation, priorities paperwork etc and they are too busy to do anything other paperwork and go call to call. PCSO’s now do the lions share of community activity and foot patrol and they are few and far between, I actually saw he patrolling the promenade at Aberavon beach last Saturday - from a distance I thought he was a parking guy from the council 😂. Specials have all the powers of a regular bobby, but I’m guessing in most cases with very little training to use them. One of my best mates is a cop and he’s fast approaching retirement - he can’t wait to get out.
