Morning Ray. After the usual drivel she pointed has stated, she will be saying more later. This is not good for Sunak. For me,a supine, gutless PM who failed to back someone for saying what many feel but never would publically. Add to this the apparent return of Cameron, not even an MP ,as Foreign Secretary and you have madness . I’ve not seen such a dumb government in my lifetime and Ivecseen many

Was she stating what is really the truth ,for identifying what is politically correct for this moment in time . Khan is the mayor who sacked Dick for not toeing his vision. She was foolish to say it openly but she stuck by her convictions and the fall out from this will be interesting to say the least

Morning. I’ve been reading some truly hate filled posts all over social media . I reckon 75% of this is for public consumption. Clearly,we live in times when free speech works one way .It stinks . I read an attachment on our site today regarding “ advice” from the Law Society as to how to refer to various people. Advise ,mark you. We don’t even know how to describe somebody’s countenance . I’m really not sure if I should post any longer on here or any social media such is my indignation . Society is a craven catastrophic mess

And for the Met to claim their policing was a Success” is just contemptible . Mark Riwley is the latest in a long line of xxxxxxxxxxx. Xxxxxxxx who are failing the public . It’s also contemptible to accuse her of emboldening the “right wing “ We need a Home Sec that is going to be strong, firm and courageous. Looking around ,I see nobody like that. Yvette Cooper will be Labour’s . And people thought Braverman was xxxx. God help us all

She will at some point but I doubt it will be until after the election. With a GE on the horizon, the Tories seem to have finally worked out that doubling down on culture wars politics and blaming everything on immigrants is not making any kind of dent in the polls. They’re down to their core support and need to start moving a little to the centre if they’re going grab any additional votes. I expect Braverman will position herself for a leadership challenge for then. At that point the party are going to have decide on its direction. If they choose to go with Braverman they might as well rename themselves UKIP and prepare for a long stint in opposition. Hopefully they won’t and will return to traditional conservative values. The county needs a strong Tory party.

The country needs a complete overall in Politics' a new brave approach, with committed politicians from all walks of life and not the lot we got now who are multi millionaires and those who were born with silver spoons in their enormous gobs. [Post edited 13 Nov 2023 12:28]

| Suella sacked then on 13:03 - Nov 13 with 2456 views | onehunglow | Sunak has made a formidable enemy here who will challenge for the leadership when Sunak gets humiliated at the next GE . The last conservative senior minister truly vilified as we read was Thatcher who went on to destroy Labour with landslides because people had had enough, outside south Wales and Merseyside and north east of course where militant Charlie’s destroyed cities for a generation for political dogma . Many ,as I say, agree with Braverman and football forums give a rather skewed view of public opinion country wide . Many, like me,won’t be voting at all . | |

What we need Max is politicians who serve the electorate in this country and adhere to those values rather than their own self promotion and ideals. It’s called public service….and it has been forgotten by many a profession in this country.
| Suella sacked then on 22:36 - Nov 16 with 2201 views | Dr_Winston | What we need are politicians paid at the rate we'd expect people leading the country to earn, but a lot less of them. The Prime Minister's salary is less than £170k pa. Anyone with any competence at that level can earn at least double that in the private sector. What we have at the moment are moronic political placemen like Drakeford, Carolyn Harris et al who are unemployable at the private sector level. The whole system needs an overhaul. | |

But you would hope those elected were intelligent enough to stay within the law. Or are you saying the government is above the law, like they seem to think.

There’s are many things I should do. I M not going to cast a vote for a party or candidate for whom I feel distain. We are where we are because too many are class obsessed and vote only one way as their “ culture” instructs .

The judges were right with their decision making, what was being proposed was illegal. Let’s be honest, this shower are probably the most untrustworthy collective of politicians we’ve ever had in charge and the law of the land is there to protect and safeguard. The law of the land is there for a reason and applies to everyone including politicians, nobody should be above the law. If the politicians can ignore or break laws as and when they choose, where will it end ? Probably when we’re like Russia or Zimbabwe with kangaroo Courts and people being jailed just for speaking out. People like Braverman and Patel have been bumping their gums off for ages pushing a policy that anyone with half a brain could see would crash and burn at Court, but they’ve persisted and wasted and huge amounts of cash on a policy that wouldn’t get off the ground. We should be holding them to account and not the judges who’ve pulled them up on their policy.

So,that plan failed. Now what is the best for us. Answers on a postcard . Nobody knows what to do or how we can stop them coming or simply allow them all to flock here no matter who they are . I see and hear some Labour going on about protecting border and others simply inviting refugees to come here. We are a small island with ever decreasing stresss on our services .

But when you take into account the expenses their able to v claim , the fact they can employ family members , they can take posts on business boards ,be paid for advising , imo the worlds their oyster.

They should be stopped from doing those things and be paid much much more. The PMs salary is less than that of an average league 2 footballer. No suprise income is gerenated in other ways. If we want the brightest and best we need to pay for them.

I think that's the point.we should pay them enough and the rules should be no second jobs, no paid interests outside politics, no advisory roles. Pay the Prime Minister 750k per year and that's it, no expenses. But then the rules also need to be stronger and clearer around things like lying, misleading the country, about pusnihmsnts if you break the rules. Maybe that is the way forward but how can we expect the people who ARE the problem to change things for the better?
