Eric Ramsay : We take a look at the man and his current situation 10:00 - Dec 30 with 3506 viewsSwansIndependent

Eric Ramsay : United Casemiro and how this young man made his mark 30th Dec 2023 10:00
A rerun of our feature on Eric Ramsay from three weeks ago. It’s only bookies talk and the odd newspaper picking up on Ramsay, but we felt it is good timing for those who missed it to catch up. This report was written well before the knock backs and Chris Davies refusal. And of course before we became aware of the cheaper options the club would go for. 0

31, no managerial experience. From Powys.
A gamble. Cheap I guess.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

If it is to be Ramsay he would be the youngest ever manager in the Championship.

I’d be happy to give him a go.
Much better than old, failed, championship managers such as Mowbray or Jones.

But if we can afford/attract Davies or Williams, it doesn’t fill me with confidence that we can afford/attract this guy either.

Not sure Mowbray is a failure exactly.

Could probably say the same about Jones, as he did well with Luton.
But to me, they are run of the mill championship managers who get passed around, like warnock. Fail more times than they achieve. No good for me.

We need a young hungry manager, who plays decent football and has some tactical nous. Potter-esqe.

Does the news of Ramsey becoming favourite mean that we have fallen short in our pursuit of Williams, as well as Davies?
If so, how?
We can’t attract a league 2 manager, or afford him?

We really are pathetic

"Does the news of Ramsey becoming favourite mean that we have fallen short in our pursuit of Williams, as well as Davies?"

I'm pretty sure we were in for Davies, but who knows about Williams. Who really knows what the heck is going on and those who do are keeping very quiet. All I know is after a long wait I am ready to be underwhelmed.

If it is Ramsay one would hope he will have a very experienced number 2 by his side.

And where does this leave Sheehan [and Watson]?

He'll need to bring a nasty bas*rd with him, a Graeme Jones type of character.

Sheehan has been guaranteed his job apparently, so the new manager can’t even choose his own assistant 🤷‍♂️

His job or a job, there is a big difference.

It’s another downgrade. We’ve looked and appointed from a division below previously.
The club are now on to 2 divisions below or non experienced managers.

if this is true then this is why there is a hold-up/potential managers turning us down.

Yeah I suppose.
How often does that happen though? Is it because he’s Watson’s pal?

We’ve always done that though. The difference with Duff was that he didn’t have any style of play or tactical nous imo.
Potter was a tactical master.
Cooper not so much, but there was other good reasons to bring him in.
Martin wasn’t first choice, but he was eventually chosen because of his style of play.
Duff it seems was only brought in to win games, but that failed.

Ramsey seems like a decent fit to what Swansea want and usually do, albeit after the better candidates have turned it down
