Luke Williams : It was horrible my players were very nervous 25th Jan 2024 22:26
It was a shell shocked Luke Williams who faced the cameras minutes after his sides 5-0 loss to Bournemouth in this seasons FA Cup. Beleaguered is one word we would use. 0

Is it getting worse ? Click above.

Doesn’t say much for you then Luke, does it.
There again, looking at number 1 ,it’s hard not to be nervous .
It starts with the keeper.

Why would they be nervous?
That really is astonishing.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

there were some experienced pros out there.
Naughton and Allen have hundreds of Premier League appearances between them.

I worry Leicester could be as bad as tonight.

The rot has set in.

One of the reasons I read Znaughton was given another contract tract was because he was a great trainer and his experience would be telling
Hopefully now, all will see this fatuous comical drivel consigned to the Bin

I thought Williams was honest, but a worried.
He knows he’s got a lot of work to do. On the players, but also his own tactics. Doubt he’ll get much kip tonight. And so he shouldn’t. He should get the notebooks out and plan some training sessions and meetings with the coaches.
Not even a week on the training pitches.
I feel Leicester will be a very defensive and dour display. Losing 1-0 would be a decent result imo. Concentrate on the Plymouth game. Hopefully we will have a couple of new bodies and a new striker. Good performance and some goals would set us in good stead.

The players did not look nervous but too relaxed. The relaxed mental state meant standing off quality players and giving the all the time and space they could only have dream about for an easy night work. When they competed they clumsily committed fouls.

Swansea do not do cup ties like the Man city game a few years back. Swansea are good at passing backward not forwards and look extremely stale. Passing accuracy is extremely poor. There is no forward outlet and slow multiple passes are preferred over a sharp incisive pass.

Past Swansea teams were always competitive. The team has gone down a tactical cul de sac.

I don't want to be the first to say it, but, I think he is way out of his depth.

You could put pep in charge this lot and be exactly same..we just not got the players,we just not good enough we desperate for signings pace and a centre forward who can hold the ball..Jamie ohara called us embarrassing on talk sport and he's not wrong

You cannot build a team around loan signings , if it were possible I would send all of them back from whence they came. Some very brave decision need to be made to ensure we don't get relegated.

If he was honest, he should admit Allen and Naughton are finished and should never ever start a game .
Joe will never be fit enough
I’ve said enough about Naughton .

On Saturday we weren't aggressive enough, last night we were too aggressive I know there is a balance to find but like another poster on here i'm hoping LW isn't out of his depth. He admitted his set up was all wrong but did nothing to alter it. Williams has soon found out you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear half that team would struggle in league 1. Unless the yanks are going to spend 20 mill ( and they wont ) on 5/6 quality proven championship players then this will lead to the inevitable relgation next season. EVERY decision the yanks havemade since they rocked up has been the wrong one.

Do we know if our chairman attended the match last night or was he at home playing with the kids?

People wanted a Russell Martin clone and on the early evidence we've got one. Our starting lineup of a back three with players out of position all over the park was straight out of the Russy playbook.

The fact that no team outside the relegation zone in L2 had a worse defensive record than Notts County this season should maybe have featured more in our decision making than it apparently did.

Williams has to learn, fast. Hell, even Martin doesn't play a back three any more.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Absolutely. At the end of the day our players are professional footballers and athletes, many in their prime. Please don’t tell me they’re playing to their physical limits, they most certainly are not.
Every other team seems to have more space and time in the ball and they attack in units utilising overlaps (remember when we used to do that!?). We just seem to turn up and adoot a ‘let’s see how it goes’ attitude. No thought, no movement, no training ground plays. And don’t get me started on set plays.
All this is down to coaching and that involves getting the best out if the resources at hand. They really aren’t that bad. Are they??😳
