That’s as great a demolition as I’ve seen and it’s very concerning
Positives say we will dust ourselves down and thrash Blackburn which is of course warlocks
Matos is very likeable but football changes dramatically
He must make significant changes
Why loan Parente and not play him
He can’t be a worse defender than Tymon
Seelt should replace Cabango
Just needs to be kept out of squad and loaned out in January and it makes Walta extract more puzzling
Widdell is a lovely likeable lad but he’s not learning as he should
We are still apparently passing Martin style for the sake of it
Mowbray is a real fox and his team are next up
He was the type of manager we should have employed , ie a proven operator at this level
But, it’s gone and it’s down to Mator to put it right | |

I think both Seelt and Stewart need starts, Just needs to find some confidence, its obvious that he can be more than decent, but it has to be said that he's been poor, game to fast to physical for him at the moment I don't know, but he needs people around him to help him to improve his confidence, not scapegoating for todays debacle of course, Welsh, Cabango Stamenic or Tymon didn't turnup today, Vig needs to watch that penalty again over and over and not make a challenge like that again.

There was a large piece on the BBC last week about Matos' tactics.
Since the West have lost 2 game 0 - 6.
I can see the merit in doing these interviews after 40 games with promotion secured.

The scale of the defeat may be surprising, but the defeat itself is not. As I've said elsewhere, despite us turning over the lesser teams we've faced, we generally come up wanting in the games that matter. We've not spent the money we have to get turned over so easily by the better sides.
Clean sheets and goals against Watford and Derby are all well and good. Clean sheets and goals against West Ham matter more.
We have to start doing better against the sides in the higher reaches of the table. We can't keep writing off poor results as a one off when in reality they're beginning to point to larger issues with our play. We can't keep picking the same teams and players and expecting different outcomes. |  |

A bad day at the office but although a concerning scoreline it was not a 5-0 game. So there’s a need for perspective as always.
Rarely will a team only have 12 goal attempts and score 5. We defended badly at crucial moments and also conceded an unnecessary penalty. We had some good chances within our 8/9 goal attempts and should have scored two or three of them. At least. Widell being the main culprit. As bad as we were today defensively the scoreline did not reflect the 90 minutes where we also had more of the ball. In key moments though that was a bad showing.
Clearly we are not automatic promotion contenders and that our reasonable goal is a play off place and that would be seen as a superb achievement
It’s only one game today just three points lost. They will learn from it. Possibly they were believing the hype. When that happens you can get casual. And sloppy. In big moments and today was one of those. We will be back. Keep calm chaps. We have a lot of good players in the squad. They will be hurting but that wasn’t as bad as the scoreline might suggest. i had a poor stream for the first 30 mins or so, dropping in and out , and I missed the 2nd goal, but to me it looked like we were playing 3 at the back leaving space and gaps everywhere, players for 2 of the goals were static and not challenging .

I’m still waiting for this ‘other day’ because not taking our chances has been the story of our season so far. Up until last week we’d done enough but the last 2 games have highlighted the need for us to be more composed and clinical in front of goal.
If Idah had scored at 1-0 we may still have lost, we’ll never know but it may have been a completely different game. |  |

It's probably a bit of both.
Certainly our good start has led to a degree of arrogance and perhaps complacency when it comes to assessing our chances in games and this season in general, but today was probably an outlier in that we're unlikely to be 3-0 down inside 15 minutes again any time soon. We were spectacularly bad.
We need to be positive, we need to take our game to teams and we need options when Plan A isn't working. I've not seen anything like a hint of a Pan B so far. | |

Hindsight is wonderful, but what did you think when you saw the starting 11. The conditions were made for Fulton and Eom. I had no qualms with the defence selection but they had no protection. As for Just I can't understand why he is currently selected. That's two matches in a row we can say on another day, but I'm putting the blame fully on Matos. That starting 11 is not the best we have, no excuse of two games in a week, just poor selection and tactics. | | | |
