With the current weather at Siberian levels what's the Coldest , Wettest, Warmest
you have been at a game

Coldest - QPR vs Forest 86 milk cup game, it was freezing it was snowing and then the floodlights went off , the old man who is a builder said to me ive been grafting out in it all day and now im sat here like a right prat freezing my bollox off , to top it all there was a massive ruck in the back of the ER stand that was just above us

also went to west ham one year with a couple of arsenal mates it was around xmas time about 23 years ago my feet were that cold I thought I had developed frost bite it was an awful game as well I had skinny stone island rain coat on and I thought it was the bollox unfortunately it offered less protection than a Rotherham social worker , I froze in the name of fashion

Wettest - Swindon away in 98 think we lost 3-1 the heavens opened and yours truly had only a v neck jumper on in an away end that had no roof , I was like a drowned rat and I even stayed to the end
West ham at home in 87 lashed it down it I think we lost 3-2 in a barnstormer cottee may have got a hat trick but again I was drenched standing in the paddocks and only had a QPR shirt over my jumper for protection

Warmest - Blackpool in 03 it was that hot that I think the central line at white city had melted
Wycombe away a couple of seasons before was hot one we lost 1-0 it may have been august bank holiday , I recall the fans singing to jude the cat
"there's only one sweaty pussy" he must have been roasting in there

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Warmest definitely the Blackpool one, my dad still took a flask of tea to that game.

Coldest I recall was us playing Cardiff on a Friday night and being freezing, not sure I'd quite turned up dressed for the temperatures!

I love flask of tea story's.

Wettest was undoubtedly the Swindon away game. Didn't you take advantage of the transparent cagoules, PP?! If there was a worse train journey home thread this would be up there with, terrible loss, drenched to the skin and standing all the way home.

Coldest game I went to was away at Huddersfield, at the McAlpine, would have been late 90's again. It was the wind chill factor as much as anything plus standing at the back in the away end close to the concourse it was like a wind tunnell which just added to freeze factor. Only time I've ever drunk Bovril at a game.

Hottest game, no idea. Presumably because I'd have been thirstier than normal....

I hadn't seen that before. must admit to being slightly surprised at the number of Ku Klux Klan within our support.

Coldest - swimming in the Irish Sea on New Year's Day a few years ago... seemed a good idea at the time. Minus 6, but factor in wind chill and f*** was it cold - an actual, physical, tangible shock to the body.

Hottest - caught by a fireball. A plastic 'can' of petrol (that had been used by my brother to get a huge pile of damp tree clippings burning - and then left far to close to the fire) exploded. Showered by burning petrol and plastic. Fortunately it was by a river and I jumped straight in. Some burns, but not as bad as it could have been...

Windiest - definitely Wycombe away. Day took a goal kick and such was the wind, I thought he was going to have to save his own kick.

Wettest - Sevile v. Some other Spanish outfit. Two chums and I left the hotel for n a beautiful sunny December day in t-shirts. 10 minutes in, the heavens opened and we with several thousand other folks got drenched.

Coldest - Oldham! It was bitter cold one year and a load of us were waiting for the train and could see this shitty two-carriage thing slowly coming towards us for about a mile or so. I just remember we were all shivering like junkies so the train was welcomed as we were frozen. Soppy sod of a driver despite seeing the station for that length of time/distance, he missed one of the longest platforms you’ll ever see. We started to run after it until he stuck it into reverse, and we had to run back onto the platform.

Hottest - Saints away in 83. Baking hot day and we were rammed in like sardines.

Wettest?? The friendly away to Le Havre on 10th October 1987. Pi$$ed it down all day, pitch was like a swimming pool come kick off. On entering the ground, the five of us that travelled over were surrounded by English FA 'security advisors' and frogmarched (no pun intended ) to the only part of the ground without a roof. The rain didn't let up during the game either. At the time English clubs were banned from Europe due to Heysel. To say the reaction by the FA was over the top would be an understatement.

I met Fearless for the first time on the trip and we've remained friends ever since. We look like drowned rats in the photos.

Good shout for the hottest being the dell away in August 1983, I remember it coming over the police radio that we had 4000 there so no wonder it was so bloody hot in that end !

Coldest for me was Forest away 0-2 in 1984-1985 about 250 of us in the corner of a massive open terrace with the wind from the Trent blowing from the other end god that was freezing I still shiver thinking about it.

Rain, open terrace at the manor ground in the 3-3 draw in 1986 or Southamton at home 4-0 in 1983-1984 I got soaked before the game .
Can't remember the rain much that day but Muddiest was Yeovil away in 1988 when we decided to invade the pitch at the end . Suede boots were in fashion and I remember HemelRs off here wrecking a really smart new pair from Nik Nak in Soho he was well annoyed all the way back on the train lol

I think I've seen fearless's pictures from Le Havre wasn't there a massive Rangers Skinhead geezer in them ? is that you Smegma ?

You talk of the late Bob Burns RIP. I was the one who was topless having given my Dennis the Menace shirt to a Le Havre fan. Thankfully I had a sheepskin coat that John Motson would've been proud of. I did have a shaved head which helped as my hair didn't get wet !!!!!

And how can anyone forget Union Berlin in preseason just gone. There was about 8 inches of rain outside their clubshop on the way out. And that water fell in about 30 minutes. It was a bright and sunny day 30 minutes before kick off.

While the game in Leipzig was during a heatwave.

But for heat THAT Blackpool home game takes some beating. If I recall, there was a thermometer pitch side and it reached 102 degrees F.

Coldest...Away at Barnsley Dec 1998 -Open stand- the sleet was coming in horizontal and they'd run out of hot drinks.

Wettest - Walking back to the car Liverpool away circa 1996

Warmest - Lower loft near the paddocks - first game of the season v Blackpool. early 2000s

Windiest- Wycombe away 2004....

I was at that one too, good shout. One side - not sure which - tried a shot from the kick-off. I remember seeing some pigeons trying to fly into the wind: bad move!

I think the wettest was away v Wolves, when we had Adam Miller playing for us. The stands are a long way from the pitch at that ground but even so, we could see huge puddles on the pitch. At one point, a player tried to win the ball by splashing his opponent.

The coldest for me was a home game, on a Monday evening I think, when we lost 1-0 to Cov courtesy of a very late penalty. My memory may be incorrect but I seem to remember it was the only shot on target of a dire match I spent wrapped round a rapidly cooling cup of coffee. The situation was exacerbated by the knowledge that I could've gone to a local pub to watch it on Sky rather than driving for hours only to sit freezing in the bleak Upper Loft .

Coldest: Probably Carlisle away with driving sleet in our faces, many of us chose to face away from the pitch and only turn around if there were increasing murmurs coming from the home fans Forest away during the miners strike was pretty cold and during a match at Highbury in the Clock End the police were letting fans start little newspaper/ chip wrapper fires to keep warm before the game and just before half time my brother passed out with hypothermia so that may have been HIS coldest match LOL
Warmest has to be the pre season friendlies at Northampton & Wycombe just recently. I was sat in a pair of shorts and a running vest for both night time games and wore shades throughout the Wycombe one.
Wettest is a toss up between the Swindon away sat in an uncovered end one evening (mentioned earlier) or the midweek home game against Arsenal where we beat them 2-0 in a torrential downpour and I was in the front of the Loft

The grass is always greener.

Ah yes I remember that Wolves game, think at one stage the ref thought about calling the game off it was that wet. We snuck a 2-2 draw I think Gallen scored and possibly Scott Donnelly??

I clearly remember the natives were restless, some of the loudest whistling from a home crowd I have ever heard!

Coldest Reykjavik away , you know your in trouble when ice bergs float past the away end pre match any away game at Oldham being Baltic weather , one game we hid inside the toilets until kick off it was that cold

Hottest Plymouth away the Sean they went up

Wettest can’t remeber the game but at half time a hail storm started quickly followed by the heaviest rain ever seen at LR

I mean every trip to Oldham has always been fcking hideous but apart from that three trips to Blackpool - one where Chris Day played like Lev Yashin, one where Stewart fcked up in the last minute and we lost and a midweeker when Helguson scored were just unfair in that uncovered side stand. And the Sunderland match where Sheron scored twice.

We played Wembley in the Middlesex Cup in the late 80's. Or rather our youths did. Kingsmore, Lynch, Herrera, Cummins and maybe Bradley Allen would have played.

The game was fuggin' woeful. I can't remember a single thing about the game itself. I can remember it was in December, that it was Baltic and that there was about 22 people at it. The handful who were supporting Rangers were so cold that as it approached full-time we were either praying for Wembley to score so they'd win and we wouldn't have to face thirty more minutes of Stalingrad-like conditions or we were praying that Rangers wouldn't equalise.

Either way, the inevitable happened. Extra time. I swear absolutely nobody wanted to be there, not players, not management, not supporters. Yet there we all were, now missing noses, ears, toes and fingers, staying on for extra time in a game that would be forgotten by the time we defrosted. Yet there we were, staying on anyway, our stupidity a testament that evolution is real and needs further work.

Nah they won 2-1, Gallen scored late. Referee (Probert) allegedly said afterwards that he'd have abandoned it if the scores were level but Wolves were winning and there was only 20 minutes left. Totally unplayable second half.

There was a season I can't remember which one and I'm sure it was in August but we went to Oldham and froze to death think we won 1 or 2 nil.
It rains on Swindon's away end every day of the year.

Yeh just after we'd signed Spencer and Peacock and I think they both scored. There's a big portacabin on stilts in the corner of Boundary Park which is the sponsors lounge. Polish Paul and several comrades negotiated access and watched the second half from there.

The year Ferdinand scored from 30 yards there and we lost 4-1 anyway was vile.

Wettest - surprised nobody has mentioned Oxford in 1986,shortly before the League Cup final. 3-3 (did Macca score with an overhead kick?) on their ramshackle open terrace in an absolute monsoon, us lot going mental, swinging soaking T-shirts around our heads. Remember walking back down a narrow path outside the ground that had basically turned into a mudwrestler's paradise.

Those were the days!

Was this the game where away fans were put down the side of the pitch and not behind the goal? Wolves fans throwing and spitting on top of rangers fans

Must have been late October if memory serves me

Coldest - Trinidad & Tobago v Iceland - pre 2006 World Cup friendly at Loftus Road in February. Quite simply the coldest I've ever felt at a game. You'd think this would have played into the hands of Iceland but they lost 2-0.

Wettest - One of the Simod Cup type games at home to Reading. Left White City station and within seconds the heavens open up to one of the biggest downpours ever. Got absolutely soaked and me and my mate sat shivvering in the upper Loft for nearly an hour and then the game got called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Hottest - I missed the Blackpool home game so am going for QPR v Liverpool (2-2 I think) around 1989. Scorching hot day and, stupidly, rode to the game from Watford in just jeans and my QPR Guinness shirt (plus helmet of course).

Off topic but I went to see Bowie at Milton Keynes on my bike on the hottest day I can remember and rode from Towcester to MK in just tshirt and shorts, I nearly burnt alive with the 'wind heat' effect, had to stop under bridges to cool off. Never seen the like before or since, seat was actually melting where you'd rub it and hand would be black.

I think hottest game I've been at was Play off final, I had the Dennis the Menace Guinness shirt on and was cooking away that day.
Coldest I think was Scottish League cup semi final in 04 v Glasgow Rangers, drove down in similar weather to this in an old banger of a Citreon 100(?) with little to no heating, had this car on loan from garage while mine was being repaired but it was the best snow car I've had and went through anything. It was freezing but thankfully the wind was going over our stand as it would also have been the wettest as snow turned to rain and the Rangers support was absolutely drenched in freezing rain. And we won on penalties!
