Tankovic's entry a few days ago said he played for us, it now says AEK.

Let's hope he will be in a QPR shirt soon, my Northampton Town mates will be devasted. At walking football this morning avoided the discussion on Goode's transfer, as last week we were winding them up a bit that he was on his way down the M1. Me and other QPR mate who plays were ignoring the comments on the play off final tonight.

If it is already on Wikapedia that he already plays for us that should have saved us about £1m in actually signing him? Just don't tell anyone at Northampton.

Never knowingly right.

I know nothing about this chap but if he’s a no nonsense defender who can get better then it’s a yes please from me

I take great comfort that at least we are trying to address the 70+ goals a year conceded issue

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Thinking this ship has sailed. Rangers unlikely to get him, but would liked to be proved wrong. My Cobblers mates say 20% sell on clause with Scunthorpe his previous club.

Cobblers have turned down four bids from two Championship clubs for defender and captain Charlie Goode.

It is understood the bids were made by Queens Park Rangers and Middlesbrough and all four fell short of Town's seven-figure valuation for the defender.

We have to crack what their seven-figure valuation is, before we match it.

I think it's 58,762.26

I'm not convinced we should be spending £1m+ on a 25 year old CB who has one good season in League 2 under his belt.

Nor should we spending much more than that on Rob Dickie, a 24 year old CB with a couple of decent seasons in League One under his belt and only a year left on his contract.

The targets are fine, the prices are massively inflated. Fortunately we're not getting lured into paying over the odds for them.

Konsa, Pinnock, Clarke went for the same in recent years.

Both club captains.

The alternatives are....u23 former Prem player who has typically not played many competitive games and usually does not have the physical presence. Or or by someone 14 om Europe up.and hope they adapt to the championship.

But I can't see many first team championship defenders costing less than that either.

There is a rumour on Twitter saying that he is having a medical today at Rangers and has not appeared in any of the Northampton town photographs of them training today

Konsa was 20 and an England U21 international with 2 good seasons at League One and being linked with Everton and Liverpool.

Pinnock is a fairer comparison. Some championship experience but only one good season at L1 level and in his mid-20's. Brentford paid £3m I think.

Is Clarke the Pompey CB that went to BHA?

Overall, I'd say that Goode isn't in that category and we shouldn't be paying £1m+ and Dickie might be in that category albeit with a year left on his contract. I'd say we shouldn't be paying much more than £2m combined.

Brighton apparently signing yet another centre back from Germany today. Wonder if Weir fancies helping Warburton out be sending Clarke our way for next season.

Mind you it seems Duffy might be off to Celtic and Leeds have upped their bid for Ben White to a billion pounds so maybe not.

I was mainly referring to Dickie yeah. Agree we'd have to be very sure of what we're getting to go to a million for Goode, but 25 isn't a bad age either.

£2m the pair - unlikely.

Also been some longtime rumbling that Frankie Lamps thinks Dunk is Chelsea material. Presumably he means complete wnkr which is fair enough.
