The Early Edition Midweek Northern 'Shithousery Special' Match Thread 09:00 - Feb 23 with 34363 viewsDorse

It has been estimated that approximately 13.8 billion years have passed since the beginning of the universe as we know it. Scientists have calculated that around 39% of that time has been wasted by Preston players feigning injury, complaining to the ref or kicking the ball away when their team is a goal up. These figures are startling: it seemed so much longer at the time.

What, if anything, can we expect playing north of Watford gap, midweek, at Preston? Under normal circumstances, a piss-boiling display of rampant gob-bummery administered ad nauseum by the game's foremost exponents of the Dark Arts. Coached by Baphomet himself, Preston have clearly offered their first born daughters to the Evil One in order to gain mystical control over time itself and weakened the minds of Championship referees. Is there any hope?

Yep. We got Charlie Austin. So there.

Unusually we were worse after the subs tonight. Preston never looked like scoring. They were woeful. Shame we couldn't take our early chances, or force chances from the good positions we got into. Anyhow another clean sheet and continues the good run - we'd have taken 0-0 away at Preston at the beginning of the season.

No final catharsis, but pleased with that result.

Surprised he didn't change things up/use sub's faster.

Thanks for the comms

Can't help but think the game was there for the taking had we tinkered with the lineup a bit more, but I'm okay with taking a point there. Unbeaten run continues.

Think Willock needs to start Saturday, along with a couple of others, at the very least just to rest a few of our regular starters.

Perfect ending, Kane with his shittiest cross of the night

... and the godawful Sky Comms team said we would be disappointed as it wasn't a "trademark cross" from Kane.

Mate, it was.

Shockingly dull game...

Can we go out yet?
Poll: What would you take for Willock if a bid comes this month?

We could have won that.
Why didn't Uncle come on?
Anyway up one to 13th - closing gap to 9 points behind 6th placed Cardiff who are on an amazing run.
For Saturday Warbs will surely change the team around at Birmingham.
Kakay would be good for Kane,
de Wijs will get some game time - maybe for Cameron?
Willock, Uncle and Field will surely get a start. Bettache may get a bit of a run too.
Have to get some fresh legs in from the start - if we want to maintain our impressive run.

I'm reasonably happy with that, PNE were the better team.

Elsewhere, the Mick McCarthy juggernaut continues its relentless momentum. Another win for Cardiff.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

I thought the first half was quite entertaining, could, maybe should, have been 2-2 at the break, but a very ordinary second half. Thought Field should've been on earlier. Apart from his misses, Dykes had a better game. Clean sheet the positive.
We go again.
Etc.

Bare bones.

Literally predictable for me as I had 0-0 in the prediction league. Not impressed with the goal bonus though.

Banana skin avoided, I feel.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

It's no use moaning guys, Kane keeps his fingers in his ears when he reads the internet and during crossing practice.

The Early Edition Midweek Northern 'Shithousery Special' Match Thread on 21:44 - Feb 24 with 1226 viewsBrazilNutR

Brazilian commentator said that final "cross" by Kane was symbolic of QPR's performance...

They were also shocked by the PNE player who threw himself to the ground trying to get Bonne sent off.. which for Brazilians to complain about that sort of shithousery means it is pretty damn serious..

could have lost it, but was also there for the taking.. strange game.

That Kane cross about sums it up.

Not wanting to defend Kane’s terrible crosses tonight but that pitch played a part - it was cut up all over the place. We do like a nice flat surface.

Would have taken a 0-0 before the game but seeing how shite Preston were second half I’m
Disappointed we didn’t go for it and get all 3.

Seny my MoM for his first half saves.

Kane....dear oh dear 😳

Some seriously low scores to come from that performance, with not a seven to be seen.

The fatigue thing sounds dire from the comments on here! And no recovery time at all really. I assume that that is the most pressing factor in the substitution decisions at the moment..... got to keep them all upright and breathing.

‘morbid curiosity about where this is all going’

This, I thought even in extra time that we might still nick it, but hey. A point away at a wet and miserable Preston, where we’ve rarely come away with anything. A tired point, but a point and a clean sheet nonetheless.

Bring on Birmingham City.

This is being silly.
We have two games in hand on most of the teams above us.
If we win both - a big if - then we would only be 3 points off the play-offs!
This is ridiculous even thinking about it - considering we were down in the relegation zone just a few weeks ago.
We're 11 points clear of 3rd from bottom Rotherham - same amount of games.
Top half of the table finish would be fantastic.
But we can all dream about play-offs - don't you think?
