There was a 3 or 4 year period where Bardsley was clearly the best RB in the country, and yet every England team announced had Lee Dixon and Rob Jones in front of him. Absolutely criminal.

I’ve mentioned it on here before but he provided me with one of my favourite moments at a football match. I was sat in the North Bank Highbury 1990 or 1991, Bardsley in defence gets the ball near the corner flag with Lee Dixon closing him down. He calmly pokes the ball through Dixons legs, rolls around him and collects the ball on the other side. I can still picture Dixons face now absolutely classic and the sound of the gasps from the Arsenal fans around me.
Top class Bardsley. Criminal he had si few england caps as was by far the best right back in the country for a few years though I think a broken leg held him back a bit if I remember rightly.
Ahhhh tackleing. Anyone else remember it? That was superb. And if you need any more reason why todays game is ridiculous . He'd have been off after the 2nd tackle nowadays
Aah, happy days. What a joy it was to watch him, Clive and Ray together. My mantra in those days was that theyre the best pair of fullbacks in the land. You can stick your Dee Lixon and Walter Winterbottom or wot ever they were called.
