What are people's thoughts on Faysal Bettache?

I've noticed that Warbs has had him in and arund the first team all this season, and Clive once wrote a cryptic comment that seemed to suggest Warbs thinks extrmely highly of him. At the moment, I think of him the same way as I did Chair after his first few appearances: talented, but I want to see more.

Do those who watch more U23 know any more than me? Could next year see him play 20 times or something? Or is next season the time for the Wycombe/Stevenage/Oxford loan?

Bare bones.

If we don't get Jojo back you could find out...

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

from what i've seen he looks like a really intelligent player, so hopefully eventually he can fit in with our rotating cast of little lads who seem to be able to play any position bar centreback

but first a League 2 loan is definitely the way to go, same as Eze and Chair before him

I saw make his debut in the League Cup a few years ago when about 17 against Bristol Rovers I think and he looked good. The few times I’ve seen him since again he has looked alright

He’s 20/21 now and has probably less than 10 first team appearances, a loan to a league 2 club is certainly the next step probably along with Bansal McNulty so they can play competitive football and gain some experience like Eze, Chair, Lumley,Kakay etc have done before

An additional benefit to the obvious ones should we sign Johansen would be that it should allow Bettache to go out on loan which, as others have said, he needs. I think he would have gone out this season had it not been for Amos' injury just a few games in. His cameos have shown excellent ball skills and movement, and he plays with his head up all the time.

He's looked good whenever I have seen him but that isn't vey often, i'd imagine a loan move would be a benefit to him first half of next season

I mentioned this in another thread but I think the one very tiny criticism I'd have of the Manager, is that he didn't secure a decent loan for Bettache this season. I know he thinks highly of him and can tell he was a bit nervous about the cover we were going to have in midifeld if he let him go but I just think if he was returning to us now with 30+ games of competitive football in him we'd be so much better off and he'd be a serious contender to get some decent game time next year. As it is, he's hardly played any competitive football this season which is a shame.

Definite potential, like the way he plays but he needs games and he needs them on loan, not with us, as defensively he's not ready yet IMHO. A season away, learning the game and getting minutes under the belt and I can see him slotting in longer term for us.

He looks a natural. Easy moving and happy on the ball. I thought the same of Eze when I first saw him and called him the Fred Astaire of football.

I have seen Faysal quite a few times as he progressed through the U18's and U23's.
His involvement in and around the first team this season has been no great suprise to me. He has always been a confident player on the ball, but what impressed me most was that he never let his head drop during games if we were getting well beaten and would always "show" for a pass.
I'm sure he has learnt a good deal in the last 15 months or so, being around the first team squad. I agree with previous comments that Faysal and long time team mate Amrit Bensal-McNulty both now need extended loans in the 3rd/4th tier.
We have two gems here - let's hope they each continue to develop.

Bettache looks quality to me. I would have no problems keeping him in the first team squad even if JoJo comes in.

Cameron is gone and Ball and JoJo plug that gap so, that leaves Bettache to replace Chair or Willock should they get injured or need a rest.

I think Bettache is more a DCM/CM type of player rather than an ACM player. Thomas would be cover for the Chair or Willock positions.

Personally I think he is a really good prospect, he plays with his head up, sees a pass and releases quickly. excited to see him develop but needs more competitive game time,

I think it will depend on who else we keep or bring in.
If we get JoJo and LTC gets another year and Chair stays then Bettache needs to go on loan.

L2 might be too low for him.

Without Chair and/or LTC then Bettache gets to play 15-20 games

Keep using him how we have been using him. Gradually integrate him into the team.

No need to burn a portion of our budget on re-engaging the ineffectual LTC.

He looks good to me . If he goes on loan I would retain the right to recall him in Jan regardless of who we sign .
The fitness of Amos and LTC as back up cannot be relied upon and Bettache's style of play and comfort on the ball fits with our style . He seems to have a bit of an edge in the tackle as well which i like.
I cant wait to see this team next season .

He needs a loan IMO, but there's definitely something there.

I think Bettache leads the list of players that are 30-40 more games away from us knowing if they can be be genuine 1st team squad contenders or not, along with the likes of Niko, Masterson and maybe Owens. Bettache especially, I don't think he's even on double figures for pro starts - very hard to tell anything at this point.

There's also a group that HAVE to see some loan action this year - Walsh, Gubbins, Kelman, Duke-McKenna chief amongst them.

I think he looks like a great prospect but he does need League 1 game time. I would perhaps send him to Wycombe or Oxford, if they don't go up for experience. Certainly looks like a natural talent though.

Never knowingly right.

From the U23s I'd add to your load list: Ody Alfa — seems to have disappeared, Aaron Drewe — excellent loan at Oxford City, and Amrit Bansel-McNulty — loan at Como seemed to go wrong.

Not seen enough of him yet but what I have seen is nothing more than a young professional starting his career.......not seen the talents that the OP has stated, only what a 21 year old professional should be able to do - basics.

Could be yes, then Ball can cover CD if one of them gets injured so, that works too.
Players will need a rest and be absent for many reasons, therefore we need him in the squad in my view.

If it does not work out by Jan, we can loan him, otherwise, play him.

Needs games. Looks pretty cultured on the ball.

Came on v Fulham and didn't close down their goalscorer in extra time when he had fresh legs so probs needs work on his defensive and dark arts side of centre midfield.
