I hold the record - Boro Match Thread 09:30 - Feb 17 with 37285 viewsSuperhoops2808

So I hold the current record. The last time I started a match thread, we won against Preston in what feels like last year... Oh wait, it was - The 17th December and the last time we recorded a victory

So, exactly 2 months later, I have decided to start a match thread in the hope that this will turn the fortunes around.

I am going to go for another 0-1 away win. And why the optimism? Well a) eventually we have to win and b) Boro may feel like we are ripe for the taking (which we are) and be more relaxed about the whole match

Wishful thinking, but anyway - Lets see

The man also knows what he is doing , unfortunately the clown in charge of us doesn't

Imagine that alternative universe where Warnock doesn't get replaced by JFH. A staggering decision but typical of the clowns.

8 pts is usually a comfort zone but not for us in freefall ffs.
2 shots on target for us, .boro double figures? sums it up.
someone talked of qpr positives but there are few bar the loyal fans.

He's a proper manager not a badge wearing academy and B team coach, which Critchley is.

At the time I heard Les didn’t want Warnock at the club it was a board choice as Ramsey was out of his depth and the board went for Neil to oversee things , this didn’t go down with Les who promptly said him or me

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Even better that alternative universe where he isn't replaced by "Too Good to Go for this Job" Hughes thanks to Bungle

In most cases I care more about the performance than the result, because that tends to give you a better idea of what the next few weeks are going to hold.

But today, while it was a better performance I'm not really interested, we need some points to stop the rot and don't get them today, again.

But of course they are. Warnock's first game in charge of Huddersfield and he makes 7 changes to the starting eleven. The man don't mess about!

We won our first game under Critchley and with all our injuries at the moment, we couldn't make 7 changes if we wanted too

Same here, though I wish Critchley would use the bench more.

With whom?

Is Johansen fit? I doubt it.
Aaron Drewe, Joe Gubbins, Dixon-Bonner, Aoraha? Seriously?

On the plus side Roberts, Richards, Clarke-Salter and Amos have had a nice rest away from an otherwise arduous journey up North.

These boys will be fighting fit for the run in.

Not.

There’s zero chance Dixon-Bonner or Alex Aoraha are worse than Iroegbunam. I’m struggling to think of a worse centre midfielder in recent times. He’s so far off the pace it’s embarrassing. He was better today, which wasn’t hard, but he ambles about without a care in the world. And once again, he continues to cost us game after game. At fault for both goals.

Should have been ”him”.
On another note did people see that they brought Crooks, Howson and Mowatt on in the second half.
A midfield three that we could only dream of and for them it’s coming off the bench.

If I were Les, under cover of darkness, I would put a sign up at the training ground saying: “If a team has three managers in a season and results don’t pick up, the manager is not the problem”.

It’s an old Chinese proverb.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Agreed. It's no good looking flash one minute and then next misspassing the ball or giving away a pen. Given he's no goals or assists to his name for us he's just a liability.

Yeah, sounds about right. Why would someone incompetent want a proven winner showing him up day after day?

Surely it’s time to start trying some of the reserves from the bench: cannot do any worse than the players currently selected and if heaven forbid one or two of them did well then it would give everyone a bit of a lift. Using just one sub today was a joke.

Yet the reality was that Warnock said he didn't want the job and was only doing it on a temp basis he got a win at Reading then wanted it but by that time we'd offered the job to JFH

Not an excuse - reality at the moment unless you want to pick a team full of players with no more than 1 or 2 senior appearances each

B*ll*cks I think we are going to drop. I don't think we need a director of football in league 1?

Like it or not he needs to pull the trigger to save his own skin now.

I just can't see this is all Critchley's fault. He has a paper thin squad. He can't ring the changes like Warnock did as those not playing generally do not want to and are feigning injury. If we go down I really fear for our future. If we stay up get rid where possible of all the sick notes and loans and let Critchley build his team. Do not let Les within a mile of recruitment. To me a hero of the club could well be the person who destroys it. He should go tonight.
