Yes there were a few misplaced passes and a hospital ball across the pitch but he’ll learn, he’s barely played this season. I also saw quick, clever lay-offs and his general 1st touch is better than most, including Burrell. That alone gives him a solid base to develop from, more game time sharpens his awareness.
As for the goal, come on, that 1st is pure class. The 2nd is very well taken too. Look at his past goals and he scores all types. Agile, decent in the air and good with the ball at his feet. I hope he plays more because that’s the only way he improves, and if we’re talking genuine future sellable assets, adding today to his highlights package does no harm. |  | | |

Agree with this. The Manager won’t be viewing his performance as evidence he should be starting games - the opposite I would imagine. Hold up play and decision making poor. Looked quite lost to me. But he can clearly strike a ball and has a knack of getting goals which you can’t teach so definitely a role to play from the bench. But come on, that performance from a technical/team shape and structure point of view which the Manager will be focused on, that wasn’t great and I don’t think people can get on his back for not starting him more. |
Just saw second half and he did not look great capped by that strike over the stands bouncing around somewhere in West London.
But fair play to the kid he took his goals beautifully and I was hoping he got the hattrick and match ball.

He's a young player, needs games. Took his goals well, so obviously has ability. He was poor today before he got his first goal. His confidence grew after that.

Also worth remembering he’s an actual QPR academy produced product, who is not learning his trade in National League South like most others. He’s playing Championship football straight out the DS learning on the job, so im gonna expect some stray balls and raw match awareness.
Stray passes and positioning can be tidied up with minutes and coaching. Goals like the ones today, that’s raw ability. Let him play and see where he can go. | | | |

Because I saw 1 in 3 passes misplaced, lost possession multiple times, and two shots over the bar. The goals WERE clinical and excellent finishes. But I'm distinguishing between taking your chances well and playing well overall. Happy to hear what I'm missing from your view of the match. |  |

I’d be delighted to have more players that don’t play as well as they could but still score two well taken goals in games.
I would have started him ahead of Burrell today and would have given him more minutes over Frey but I’m not a football expert by any stretch of the imagination.
Perhaps we could have prevented Burrell being injured whilst doing so, as well as opening up other ways of playing, as you rightly suggest, Hunter.
Little things make a big difference - what time would Kolli have had if Burrell wasn’t injured ? Another ten minutes at the end like the last run out.
Feck me, the guy was in the feckin stands with the fans not long ago….that’s a disgrace when the alternative is Frey.

I have championed this kid since the first time I saw him. I do not give one fck about what his family or father says on social media. Cream always rises to the top and he is class imo. As I've said when asked who is the most skilful player in training, Chair said Kolli. I'd trust his opinion over anyone who posts on here. Glad he has had his opportunity and couldn't give a flying fig if he plays badly but scores two half chances every game. Last time I looked the only stat that is important is goals scored against goals conceded.
He contributed in defence and had two moments of magic and the very fact he had two or three other opportunities which he messed up, but its a positive, he was in the right place to have those other opportunities also.
Some here are suggesting overall he was very poor.
Give us that level of mediocrity every game Rayan and well that certainly is OK by me. Makes the selection of Frey ahead of him, hard to understand and suggests perhaps all was not quite right behind the scenes.....

And the more he plays (for us), the more he’s potentially worth. More so than on loan.
So, perhaps he wasn’t great at times today, but was he better than Kone for example - as he scored two goals and closed out the game for us ?
Was there someone else that played much better than him today or didn’t make any mistakes ?
I thought Field played well when he came on and did a good job breaking up play - but he didn’t score two goals. Burrell was better than previous games too but missed a sitter.
So what has the player, Kolli, done to not play more minutes ? It’s complete and utter nonsense in my overly simplistic mind. [Post edited 4 Jan 16:49]

Exactly this.
Any player coming into the team who hasn’t played a lot is not going to hit the ground running. We’ve seen that with Vale and Morgan recently.
And the fact that so many other players today were poor on the ball at times, Kone included. Likely the pitch was a big factor because so many touches and passes were going astray across the whole team. | | | |

I know it was against Wednesday but I was very impressed with his performance today. He closes people down quickly and always seems to be prepared to make those speculative runs that give our lads an option. Doesn't always work but at least he's there! He had an awful game up until that point. Passes astray and poor touches. Pleased for his goals which he took well but don't confuse two moments of brilliance with 70 minutes of underperforming. |
Can't see how anyone can disagree with this. On today's showing, this is all true.
A confidence player. Last time he scored two (Norwich (h)), I remember him being the same - very average until he scored, then he came alive. Different player once he scores. Deserves much credit for turning the game, but, as I say, E17 has this about right imo.
Of course, with such little game time, there are mitigating circumstances, so let's hope he gets a run in the team and starts to show us all what his disciples bang on about... |  |
