That's where our new ground will be.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Isn't the hospital losing its A+E, and therefore majority of its ambulances? (Scandalous BTW)

Its ok , Fitz Hall has left the club.

Oh shoite, we still have Dire.

That would be absolutely ideal. Can stay with the Crown and Sceptre just about.

If you leave the pub at 2.15 that is. The Pavilion would be ideal.

Ted builds stadiums, I value what he says.

Looking at the map, will a stadium have to expand northwards into a bit of Wormwood Scrubs? There's a pony club there too, would that need to be moved to the east a bit?

Still good tube links, a couple of minutes extra walk should be no problem on what is already a short walk to LR.

They could make the away end to the west and encourage away fans to use the smaller East Acton station while the majority of the home fans can use the bigger White City/Wood Lane etc stations.

Well I was told today that plans are soon to be submitted, there is an issue over Highway's at the moment to 'iron out'

Anyway that's the deal as I was told, I don't normally do this sort of stuff so If It don't happen come back and crucify me, I'll still get to sleep at night.

I've checked the Hammersmith & Fulham planning applications and nothing on there as yet.

Nice one ted still think the hospital will object to it even though the A+E is due to close soon , club will have to spend a few quid on east Acton station as well no way could that cope with even a few thousand fans turning up all at once.

Am I the only one who thinks there is something incongruous about this? You have the foreboding prison, the tatty NHS hospital, and these crumbling former warder residential blocks in front of the prison:

Is our new super duper luxury ground going to fit in? The Koreans won't know what to make of it. I suppose the corporates can be driven past with their windows darkened.

There was a big piece in the Substandard last week about the redevelopment of the Old Oak Common area. Housing, shops, new transport links (HS2, Crossrail).

Kinda fits.

And as somebody who was born and brought up in Old Oak Road, been to Hammersmith Hospital as a patient on several occasions - it's my area.

The former wardens houses on the front were redeveloped a couple of years ago.

Poor old Thames Valley Harriers will need to find a new track, and the pony club could be under threat too. IIRC they do a lot of work for disabled kids there. Might well be that the club has to build new facilities for both of them elsewhere. The alternative is all sorts of negative headlines about the rich football club destroying community sports facilities.

Also, a new stadium there would make it even more important that developers are not allowed to turn the North Pole into a Tesco Metro. Need to find that petition and get everyone to sign it.

Ah. I went to Hammersmith hospital a few years ago, and it was still like this. I also had a look on Google streetview, and it also still looks like this on streetview. The whole area seemed completely neglected.

Interesting that it is next to the pony centre. A fair few players down the years would have been at home there.

Never knowingly right.

White city can be pretty crowded after a game, what's this gonna be like?

Would be a lovely place although rather a pain to park but would probably need to feed dodgy LBHF and MOD to overcome this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wormwood_Scrubs_Act_1879 the artillery still run their horses and gun carriages there from time to time.

An odd fact for my first post to this lovely site.

You will never, ever get permission to build on the scrubs. The MoD just won't wear it for a start, and I think it would also need an act of parliament to get it through.

I have no idea if the Linford Christie stadium sits on part of the scrubs, or if it is actually a different parcel of land.

Have said a few times that the MOD owning the land would be the biggest obstacle in this although with all the cuts to the forces these days maybe they would sell it , the land the linford christie sits on isnt big enough for a 20k stadium let alone a 45k stadium and assocaited bits that will be added onto it.

couple with the access issues etc east acton station would need millions spent on it which would prove difficauly as its one of the smallest stations on the central line and built alongside the railway line so bloody hard to expand it let alone make the paltforms bigger

not doubting ted atall on this but gut feeling says it wont be the linfrord christie.

And there's all this post-Olympic stuff about sports facilities for kids which would surely come into consideration here? We would have to replace any lost facilities. Could we move the running track to Loftus Road if we knocked down the ground? There would still be a problem if we needed more land over there though.
