He's made them likeable again, and that's strange coming from a man of my age who hated them. Great comeback tonight - tempo, belief, fitness and savage hard work.
Extremely admirable second half from them.

That's twice this week that I have given up on a sporting event when I thought it was all over. Went to bed at 10pm on Sunday once Jordan Speith went five up with the back nine to play at Augusta and tonight at half time with Dortmund two up decided that watching the next episode of Masterchef was a better option. Turned on BT Sport half an hour ago and have just picked my jaw off the floor! Bollox!
I listened to the game on 5live with my favourite presenter and there were plenty of plastic scousers phoning in telling us how they have been Liverpool fans for years and years, blah, blah, blah. Not many Scouse accents amongst them though.

Having similar emotion myself tonight Brian. Contemplating forgiveness and blaming it all on Norwich. Not sure if I can follow it through but they done good tonight.
Not that they will win it or even reach the final methinks.

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

Worked up there for several years, while living in Manchester.
One half of my day was spent with fans moaning and believing everyone was out to get them. The other half of my day was spent with fans moaning and believing everyone was out to get them!
The level of paranoia among football fans whose teams wear red in that part of the world, should warrant investigation by the WHO.

Why drag Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey into this?
I used to support them as a kid as my dad was born there although you'd never guess if you met him. I think that I was a jinx on them - they hardly ever won when I saw them. I suppose that I still followed them a bit even though I became a QPR supporter, but after Heysel I really didn't like them any more. I felt sorry for Everton in particular as they had a great side which was banned from Europe due to the actions of their neighbours.
My dad's still around and he still goes on about them and I was telling him tha they were still shite until a few weeks ago when they played Spurs and the reds looked a proper side again. Recent results have been very good - the last two months anyway - I think that Brian is right and they're doing things the right way and heading back to the top. They look certainties for the top 4 next season, but they might be in the Champions League if they win the Europa League.
Interestingly it seems as if Man Utd could finish 4th and end up in the Europa League if their rivals won the two European tournaments:
Watched the game with my Liverpool supporting son who as a teenager was a big Robbie Fowler fan and unlike me wasn't born in West London plus I had BT TV.. great game without a doubt However the prematch homage to the 96 grates on my nerves I looked up Heysel and saw that 14 Liverpool fans were found guilty of manslaughter and each got 3years for causing the death of over 30 Italians... we never hear a mention of that Did the club ever make a formal apology do they remember it at Anfield? Plus of course it cost us an appearance in Europe
